Only wearing a bra 3 days after BA
Hi girls,
Mr Adamo said that he dooesn't really think it's necessary to wear a bra but I've ordered one anyway and want to wear it...
I had my op on Wednesday and it still hasn't arrived in the post... Royal Mail reckons it should be here by tomorrow... I'm worried that I've gone 4 days without wearing a bra and my boobs are sitting quite far apart at the mo and feel so stiff that I don't think they're going to be moving anywhere when I try and put the bra on.... I can also imagine them hurting when I try to put it on.
Do you think it will be OK?

Re: Only wearing a bra 3 days after BA
Hi honey ~
Congratulations on your BA! I think you will be fine! Every surgeon is different so trust what they tell you to do (you chose them for a reason, and they are the professional who does this every day).
That said, I think a bra will be a good idea! I find it odd you weren't supposed to wear one.... From what I've read, the bra acts as a "dressing" holding the implants in place, the boobs in a supported position forn the healing process. Again, your surgeon is the one to listen to, but I don't think a bra would hurt but rather help. Cushion the incisions with a panty liner or gauze pad. I wore one that my surgeon brought for me to the hospital, and was instructed to wear it 24 hours a day for 3 weeks. I only now sleep without it.
I hope you feel better soon! The first three days were my hardest, so things should look up for you soon. Xxxxxx

I wouldnt worry to much hun, first off, trust your ps as they know what is best for you and your boobs... second, I have heard many times before that there isnt a great need to wear the bra post op... so if your ps thinks you'll be fine, I am sure you will be.
Congrats anyway on the new boobs!

Congratulations on your new boobs hun.
All surgeons are different hun and I would trust what he has to say, I have heard other ladies say they were told not to wear a support bra.

I echo what Alfie said.
YOUR surgeon will have adviced what's best for YOUR recovery, he 'may' have felt that you don't need to wear a bra as your muscles/skin is very tight and needs to relax and not be held tight in a support bra.
Don't compare the recovery instructions of others to those of your own babe, your surgeon knows what's best for YOU. Follow the advice you've been given hunni, afterall as well as paying for your boobs, you also paid for his expert opinion pre-op and post-op hunni. xxx

They will budge, it just takes time, they will continue to change in the weeks and even months to come.

Re: Only wearing a bra 3 days after BA
I have to say I agree with Cookie! I didn't mean my surgeon's advice was meant for all.... I also read somewhere (I've read a lot of stuff since beginning this boobie journey) that some surgeons don't want "upward pressure" on the breasts and implants post-op.
I do think there are ways bras can help, but your surgeon is the one to advise you. Maybe wait till you can call him and ask him if you can start wearing that bra you ordered? Maybe the "no bra" advice has an end-point, or maybe he wants to see you first.
All the best honey. Xxxxxx

Re: Only wearing a bra 3 days after BA
Hey girls,
My bra arrived today and I definitely feel more comfortable with it on.
My surgeon didn't really say I shouldn't wear one, he just said he thought it to be an old fashioned idea and I didn't have to if I didn't want to... apparently the pockets that he makes are so precise that it's not necessary...
That said, I still better having something hold them up! teehee...
