Is it best to choose slightly bigger than you want Empty Is it best to choose slightly bigger than you want

Post by Jessica_Rabbit 26th March 2011, 12:51 pm

Hi Everyone,

I'm just starting to go on consultations to find the right place for me. I am looking at having Allergan Natrelle implants for the lifetime guarantee - peace of mind really. Has anyone else had them?

I've read a few posts on other sites before joining this one and some people seem to feel as though they are disappointed with the size and felt they should have gone bigger. From those who have had the op would you recommend going with something that looks a bit on the bigger size to what you want to avoid disappointment, or will they eventually turn out ok?

Thanks,

Jess x

Hi jess and welcome :-)

I'm so early post op but I'm happy with my size so far and I'm hoping what's known as the "booby greed fairy" doesn't pay me a visit!

But I do think it would be better to go ever so slightly bigger than smaller as you'll get used to them so quickly that I'm sure they will appear smaller xxxxx

Thanks for your quick reply. I'll bear that in mind when I'm looking at the different options. Seems like a good idea when paying quite a bit! Just realised not sure if I should have asked those questions in this forum?

Appreciate your advice. Hope all is going well with your healing x

I did think to go big because of the money I was spending.. but what I did was asked my surgeon what he thought would suit my body frame.. he said between 340cc max 410cc.. but he said its not his decision and I should do the rice test.. I tried this and decided to go for 410cc as it seemed a big enough difference for me to justify spending x amount but didn't look overly big for my frame & I was worried if I went too big it would make me look fat as I am short lol x

Chelle, I had 410s. I'm also short.... I'm just under 5ft 1".

I'm filling out a E cup sports bra at the moment. And they are getting bigger day by day which I guess is the swelling.

What sort of size are u wanting to be? My friend had 410 and she's a FF. But then my other friend had 400s and she's a DD. So everyone does end up very differently depending on your body reactions to the implants. xxx

From what others have said I am thinking 410cc will be good for me but can't be sure. I want D's and am B at the moment (5'6"), but it's more the look of them I'm bothered about rather than size.

Have yours softened yet Lola? Chelle - what is the 'rice test'?! Sounds like you have to put confidence in your surgeon once they know exactly what you want.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

I personally think its better to go abit bigger cos you do get use to them over time.

If you are now a B and you want D's then I think 410cc will make you bigger than this. But everyone is different so listern to your PS. x

I was told to buy a bra of my desired size.. and fill with rice till I was happy and to take note of the ml.. iirc cc and ml are ment to be around the same equivalent. Oh and I used the end of tights to hold the rice in! I walked around the house every morning and evening with a size Dcup bra with two 410ml rice filled tights hehe! Hysterical

I've also read that usually if your an Acup 410cc takes you to a D but everyone is different :) x

My ps said about 125-150cc gives 1 cup size increase.

However I think it does depend on your ribcage measurements too. It would seem from chatting to some of the ladies on here that the smaller your rib/back measurement, the less cc's are needed to achieve 1 cup size increase.

So for instance, if you're a 32in back, you might find that 75-100cc gives you 1 cup size. A 30 back would need even less.

What size are you now?

Everyone is different hun.

Your PS is the proffessional on this. If he thinks 410s will get u to the size u wish I'd put my trust in them.

They look very different. I'm wearing an E sports bra at the month but I'd say I'd prob look about a D. Xxx

I am also looking at a large C small D. PS recommended 300cc (I am 34a), not entirely convinced after looking around forum though! Also, recommending unders which I assumec take the result down a bit?
I am going to see a couple of others next week and will try some slightly bigger ones to compare ... would hate to be disappointed after BA

I don't advocate that biggest is always best because although many ladies do initially suffer a little boob greed by the time their boobs have settled, the majority are happy with their boobs - I'm also one of the ones that would like to be smaller than what I have.

What 'I feel' is best is to do your homework hun - see a few surgeons and ask every question you feel might help you get the boobs you want, pics will also help your surgeon to understand the size and look you're after too as they don't work in cup sizes they work in volume.

To the top right column of the forum you'll find a link to a 'consultation notebook' you'll find lots of helpful questions in there if you're stuck for what to ask.

If you find a surgeon you feel comfortable and trust hun - some are now using sizers during surgery to ensure you get the best implant to 'fit' your body frame, take time to understand and digest what is suggested and only when you feel 100% comfortable and happy with what's suggested book with that surgeon, you really should have a dilemma on your hands babe - you surgeon should have enough information from you and you'll both be reading from the same page to get as near as possible what you asked for hun. xx

Is it best to choose slightly bigger than you want Empty Re: Is it best to choose slightly bigger than you want

Post by abbie 27th March 2011, 8:42 am

some people wish they had gone bigger, some people wish they had gone smaller. Most people are happy with their size.

I think its very hard to get an accurate picture of what you will end up with, so when deciding, its important to decide whether youd be most upset if you turned out a little smaller than expected, or a little bigger, and bear that in mind.

It is true that more people wish they went bigger, than wish they went smaller, but that doesnt mean you will. Its best to choose as close to the actual size you want as you can.

It's worth mentioning that when i asked if girls ended up the size they were aiming for they usually end up a tad bigger. Like if you aim for a C, you can end up a D.

shona i had 300cc high profile unders and i have gone from a 34b small to 34d (32d or 34d sport bras atm) with under you actually get bigger due to fluffing and the fill your fullest part of your breast also the muscle relaxes so you boob will get bigger, i think i will defiantely be a full d maybe a small dd it all depends.

Hi hun I think you should just go with whatever your surgeon recommends. A lot of girls get the dreaded boob greed but a lot don't. When i first had mine done I thought i was too big and considered going smaller, now I think i am too small. In reality i think i am probably a perfect size but i need to settle with the fact that I will always want something different to what I have, I think that is just me lol. In the end i am glad I trusted my surgeon, afterall they are the experts x

Thanks so much to everyone who has commented your advice is hugely helpful! Ive got three consultations this week so I'm going to find the notebook questions on here v handy. I would never have thought to ask some of those questions. It sounds like there is no hard and fast rule on whether they will turn out bigger or smaller than expected so il go with the flow and use my gut instinct.

Sooo glad I found this site and cant wait to start my own diary! Thanks girls x

if you try on something, and u like it, id go 25-50 cc bigger, bc they always end up feeling smaller once you get used to them, at first day of surgery and first week they feel big, then once they settle etc they feel more normal and most, not all of course, say they shouldve went evena tiny bit bigger (just my opinion)

I think you will enjoy whatever you get. Because its going to be bigger than what you have right now. Im really nervous about sizing too. Im preBA and Im planning to get 410cc unders but Im afraid it might be too big. Alot of people have told be since my size Im 5'6 145lbs that 410cc wont look big.

But the truth is I wont know till I get my actual BA. So yea its a guess, a hard guess, but I saw alot of doctors and I think (I hope!!!) that I picked the right one, and honestly I have to put my full trust in him.

Getting a BA is hard, if it was easy I think alot more people would be getting BA more often. Soo I think if you connect with a certain doctor and trust him, he will help you find the "right" size.. And this website will help you out too. Im so glad I found this site!!!!

Post by Tamz 27th March 2011, 10:22 pm

Im 5 ft 3 and my surgeon recommended a 285 to gain a C cup, but went for a 315 in surgery which acheived the result i wanted. I woould tell your surgeon what look/size you are after and if confident in him, he should be able to judge the size you need when he does the ba. My surgeon suggested 285's pre-op, and i was astonished when i woke to 315's, but pleased after, as it got the C cup i was after. I am due to have them re-done, tho and in fear of going too small am suggesting that i would rather be larger than loose size. x

I think it is best to go for the bigger choice. I was regretting the bigger size at first. It was scary. They were huge. But they were swollen and once the swelling went down I was so glad I went bigger. In fact my husband is scared that they are going to keep scrinking and be back where we started!!! He got used to the really big ones.

Best wishes

Hi Hun... I think everyone goes through the same dilemma... I had to decide between 300 and 340... It's so difficult to determine what they will look.... I decided on the 300s in the end because I always new the only reason I wanted a BA was for some cleavage and a bit more bedroom confidence ;)

I took some pics along with me yesterday to show my surgeon results that I didn't want and what inwould be happy with...

I'm happy that I chose the size I did... It's so easy to think that something might look too small but your surgeon wouldn't offer something hd didn't think would sit right on your body... These are all the things I told myself when making my decision...

Good luck with your decision Hun
