Post Op - girlies how long did u wear ur bra?
Hello Girlies,
How long did you wear your lovely granny bras after your surgery? I know its 6 weeks, and I intend to wear mine that long. Just wondered what you girlies did?
Also did any of you take it off during the day to give your boobies abit of freedrom?

I wore mine for 12 weeks, I never took it off as I wanted to get the very best from my recovery, so followed the advice I was given by my surgeon.

I wore mine 24hrs a day everyday for 6 weeks , then I started wearing normal bras during the day but still wear my post op bras at night... I find them quite comfortable and secure feeling.

I have to wear mine for 8 weeks and my strap for 6 weeks. I am sometimes naughty and loosen it for about 20 mins, but once I can shower (this evening) that will prob give me the break I need!

I was told to wear it day and night for 4 weeks. I only have the one surgical bra though. Was going to buy a second one til they told me it was $200!!
I go 2 hours a day without the bra while it is in the wash.

Re: Post Op - girlies how long did u wear ur bra?
I wore mine for 6 weeks only taking it off for a shower then putting a clean one on. After 6 weeks I bought an underwire one but it was so uncomfortable, I had to re get used to wearing underwire, so I'd wear my sports bra to work and wear the underwire for an hour or so when I got home, and gradually built it up from there.
Re: Post Op - girlies how long did u wear ur bra?
My surgeons advice was sports bra for 4-6 weeks. At 4 weeks he allowed a non-wired bra but I continued with the sports bra as all the non-wired bras I could find were more granny looking. It really is worth it to get the best results possible. 6 weeks seems a long time when you're stuck in that sports bra, but in the long run it's nothing.

Hi girlies, when your talking about keeping your bra on for 6 weeks post off, do you mean a normal sports bra or are you talking about a specialist bra. I was just told to buy a sports bra.... Xxxx

Re: Post Op - girlies how long did u wear ur bra?
I only ever wear a bra if I'm leaving the house. Never wear one to bed and don't wear one if I'm just about the house either. I didn't wear a bra at all for the first 4 days...
Does anyone know why its so important to wear one? I'm beginning to think that I'll wake up one day in about 4 months time and they'll be knocking on my knees!!!

I got mine from hereJaderowlands wrote:Where did you get your specialist bra from. I have no idea?? Xxx
but you don't have to have one, many people just wear sports bras from asda, debenhams, tescos, matalan or the zip up one from M&S. I just decided to buy the Z bra just in case.
Re: Post Op - girlies how long did u wear ur bra?
I got a high impact sports bra from the Debenham's gorgeous range rather than one for low impact as was told the more support the better.
Was about £20 and I really recommend them. I also have one from John LEwis and it is so uncomfortable, it has given me blisters because it rubs, but the Debenhams ones are really soft on the band and don't rub so much. Also am wearing a 30E and I'm sure I'm a smaller cup and it still fits so think there's a lot of leeway on the cup size xx

Thank you so so much. That's loads of help. I'm definately gonna make a trip to debenhams and get a bra like that. I think the better the suppose the better they will settle so I don't mind at all paying that bit money for a good fitting bra xxx

Re: Post Op - girlies how long did u wear ur bra?
I've been wearing a bunch of sports bras but I had to try on one that's kind of a cross over-ish one - It is like a sports bra but does have wire - eep! I just wore it today and it's VERY comfortable but I'm going to change into my other sports bras now after reading this thread because I'm scared I will ruin them! I have a follow up with my PS tomorrow - I think I'll bring my bra that I got with the wire and see what he says. Thanks for this thread Jade!

Re: Post Op - girlies how long did u wear ur bra?
My nurse told me to get a total support bra, I got mine from asda, it was only £6, I thought I would try and if I didn't like it I would change it, but I have been wearing it since and its very comfortable. I also got a sports bra from asda. Just swap between the two.
