I don't know much about that hun, but I think that maybe its in your head. Like we hear stories and then worry we have it. I've been the same hun.
If your that worried then maybe go to a walk in clinic and see what they say.
Good luck hun, nearly your day. xx

Re: Deep vein thrombosis
I had THE FEAR i would get a blood clos following surgery as i have a huge family history of it and i have an exsisting issue with a vein in my leg.
I went to my GP and told him i was worried about it and said that it is really rare and would more than likely be absolutely fine, as not immobile following the op, it is really rare, i just made sure i was as active as possible after the op doing my leg exercizes in bed then getting up ASAP and walking round at regular intervals.
You'll be fine

Re: Deep vein thrombosis
The chances of you having one now for no reason is VERY slim the best thing to do is to exercise, get your heart pumping and your blood circulating and i bet you the pain goes :) I get achey legs if i dont excercise them x

Re: Deep vein thrombosis
You will be fitted with surgical stockings to help prevent dvt. They will also get you up and walking to the loo quite soon after surgery. Just dont stay in bed all day when you are home. Get up walk about the house and keep mobile and you will be fine
Re: Deep vein thrombosis
hey , well i just called the doctors back and begged them for a appointment and they gave me one for late this afternoon , if it wasnt for the surgery coming up i would probably ignore it and see how it went , but id rather be safe and know i have a clear bill of health , the DVT is probably my imagination at its worse but the feeling of pins and needles and constant ache isnt , hopefully it will be a pulled muscle or trapped nerve and i can breathe a sigh of relief .
thanks for your words of reassurance xx

Re: Deep vein thrombosis
you might have an incompetant perforator vein thingy in leg like me :) is a bit sore sometimes but as long as not inactive for long periods is fine try lying down with your legs elevated see if it helps :) if youre really panicking that could be what the pins and needles are.
My Mum's had 2 and she says if you have one YOU KNOW!!! - its agony :(

Re: Deep vein thrombosis
so i can breath with a big sigh of relief and not let my imagination get the better of me , the doctor doesnt seem to think its anythin to worry about and thinks it could be related to my back , strange as i have no pain in my back , but he said if still there in few weeks then go back , but im still glad i have put my mind at ease .
