Re-op next week
Hi ladies,
I am booked in for re-op next week, one of my boobs is sitting much higher than the other and has been since my original op six months ago. PS thinks implant could have turned or has just moved up and now not sitting in pocket properly. He won't know til I am in theatre but has assured me either way that this will be a day case, with much quicker recovery than last time. He knows that I am due to go on holiday 7 weeks post op and says this is fine, flying is okay and will be fine in the pool as long as I am not doing loads of lengths swimming - I am more likely to just be splashing with the kids so as long as I can safely get wet should be okay. Obviously I trust him and he is happy with it all but just wanted to see if anyone could share their experience - bit scared that I will be too worried to enjoy holiday so soon after op, if you've had this sort of re-op how did you find the recovery? Will I really feel fine jetting off and prancing about in a swimsuit 7 weeks in? Any reassurance much appreciated!!
Thanks lovely ladies,
Liz

Re: Re-op next week
The majority of re-ops find their surgery recovery time is so much quicker than their first surgery! You'll be fine hunni!
Think about the general required recovery time for a first time BA which is 6 weeks, you're giving yourself an extra week for healing time, so you can happily look forward to enjoying your holiday hun with no worries at all. xx

Re: Re-op next week
Yeah long story but I'm having to pay part of it. The surgeon and anaethetist won't charge me but the hospital will charge me for the theatre because there isn't anyone else on my surgeon's list for that day. Barmy but true. If I was willing to rebook for another date then I might have got it completely free but I have so much stuff planned around it - annual leave, childcare, husband's annual leave, holiday coming up etc - I really didn't have a lot of choice.
Thanks for all your reassurance anyway, have been feeling very nervous about it - although I recovered pretty well first time round it's different when you start thinking about going on holiday and all the factors that throws in! Thanks again xx

Re: Re-op next week
I had a placement change die to db 10 weeks after my original ba. Recovery was a breeze. You'll be absolutely fine 7 week after. X

Re: Re-op next week
I had implant replacement,a full capsulectomy due to cc and had my pectoral muscle cut/stretched to resolve a flex problem i had 8 week ago. My hubby took the first week off to help out at home but in all honesty, although a little tender,I could have carted on as normal. I did make an effort to take it easy for the first 2 week but did have to keep reminding myself...

Re: Re-op next week
Thanks Sharon your message was very reassuring on the day of my re-op! Thanks to all who replied, I'm a week in to recovery now and just had all the dressings taken off yesterday - don't want to jinx myself cos things can change but so far it all looks good, much better than before anyway! Still swollen so will have to wait to see end result but am much happier and just keeping fingers crossed that everything stays in the right place!
Thanks again for all your replies x
