swelling / bruising/ haematoma?
I am in complete agony!!! In between my boobs it is super swollen and getting lovely bruising... how do I know its not a haematoma?
Feels very hard to breathe and it's so sore, co-code is not really helping.
am trying an ice pack (well frozen corn on the cobs!) but not really effective through a sports bra
can anyone help me? xx

Re: swelling / bruising/ haematoma?
I think you might be worried after reading other people's complications. It's completely normal to have swelling and pain in between your boobs. Under your arms and around your ribs. I doubt it's anything more than bruiseing but if it becomes really bad I would ring your clinic. A tight heavy pain is normal. Make sure you keep on top of your pain medication so that it never runs out.

I had swelling in that area as well hun. Looked like the skin was all puffy between my boobs. I can only suggest ice packs and keep on top of pain meds, you're very early post op so it's bound to be painful just now. If you're worried thought, call the clinic for advice.

The first few days for me were the easiest ...
Your going to be bruised, swollen & very uncomfortable.. & I hate to say it but things might get worst over the next few days :( Try & find some good pain med combinations that work hun.

Hopefully it will go away soon flowergirl. Try not to let that get in the way. Happy healing. Just imagine what you'll look like in a couple weeks!!

can anyone tell me how long it takes for swelling between the breasts to go down? It's still really hard and swollen. If you PM me I can send you my password to see pics. I just want to see what my boobs look like in the middle, all I see is a yellow swollen bruise inbetween! Can't wait for them to drop either!

Re: swelling / bruising/ haematoma?
It took mine a good few weeks to stop being so badly swollen. I'd say at the most it takes 6 weeks. Try not to panic, just keep reminding yourself it's a long healing process. It's a major operation. I know how you feel though, I had no pacients and wanted mine to be jiggly by day 9, I was gutted it took six months for them to move.
Re: swelling / bruising/ haematoma?
My friend had hers done 4 weeks ago and they are already jiggly! So not fair! *sulks*
Just done a bit of research and apparently swelling there is quite common, I think it's called tenting? Anyway, apparently it WILL go down... good cos the uniboob look is not very nice!

Try not to compare your own recovery to that of others sweetness, we all heal differently, some are lucky and breeze through the recovery, others take a little longer and might experience problems someone else doesn't, so just take your own recovery one day at a time babes.
As the others have said and you've read for yourself, what you're experiencing is all normal hun, not nice though I know and can be very painful, but you will be OK xx
