Warning to moisturise!!
Just been for my 3 week check up with my PS and had a pretty nasty experience. He took at look and the first thing he said was "you have not been moisturising your scars nearly enough" - and the scars were becoming hard. I have a shower each morning and pat moisturiser onto each scar before dressing. I have intensive johnsons moisturiser as he advised against bio oil (after I spent £40 on two bottles, damn it!!) which I use once a day. Apparently this isn't enough - I should be moisturising and massaging at least 3 times per day. Not quite sure how I'm gonna do it at work without my boss noticing me nipping off for a solo boob massage each day...! Anyways, it turns out that the skin glue hadn't come off due to lack of moisture so I had to endure a painful session of him tweezering the glue from the scars, picking each bit off slowly which almost made me pass out, what a wimp! They feel pretty sore now but have Showered and slapped on 2 layers of moisturiser to try and get the scars nice and soft.
I thought id share this so that nobody else has to go through incision tweezering- ouch!

Do you think it was because you had glue that you have to moisturise? I was told not to put anything on my scars until 6 weeks. Everyone seems to get different info lol

Poor you ! I was also told not to put anything on my scars for 6 weeks perhaps you were advised differently because of the glue I'm sure I don't have that mine are healing really well but sometimes itch like mad

Feeling ok thanks Flowergirl, I'm a big wimp so I tend to feel queasy at anything boob-related right now. Poor hubby hasn't had a good feel yet as I'm too worried about them being sore, etc!
But yes, it's defintely because I have skin glue and doesn't apply to 'stitched' ladies, as there's no hard glue covering your incisions. Xx

Re: Warning to moisturise!!
how about putting a thick layer of e45 onto a large plaster and leaving overnight on the scars this will encourage the moisturiser to penetrate deeply

That's a great idea, as my bra seems to soak up most of it - I have a set of well moisturised bras but dry boobies!
