A question about Rippling....
Hi. I don't really know what rippling is exactly and was wondering if someone could explain what it is and why is happens please?
The reason I ask is because... I was offered 310cc and 365cc extra high profile at my consultation. On the day of surgery I asked my surgeon for the 365cc and he started saying that we hadn't discussed me having 365cc and he didn't think he could fit it (I can assure you he did offer me 365cc, where else would I have got that size from). The two sizes had even been ordered in for me for the day.
Anyway, as he could tell that I wasn't 100% on 310cc EHP and he wasn't prepared to let me have 365cc, he then offered me 340cc high profile. He said that he fit 340cc but as they are only high profile and not extra high there would be a risk of rippling!
In the end I decided to go with the 340cc as I wanted them slightly bigger and the base diameter was over 1cm bigger on the 340cc and as my main concern with the 310cc was the diameter not being wide enough for the look I want (I wanted a bit of side boob). So 340cc was the size I decided on.
Now I am starting to wonder about Rippling and how likely it is to happen. Does anyone have this or know anything about it?
Sorry to waffle on. I wanted to explain the whole story lol xxx

Re: A question about Rippling....
here is list of possible complications and what they look like, if you click on the rippling one it will show you extreme cases of implant rippling although I believe the pictures show saline implants (silicone chances of rippling are less). It usually happens if you dont have enough tissue to cover the implant. It seems to be more obvious when people bend forwardand is caused by the implant folding moving. If you go for a form stable implant (gummi bear) these tend to ripple less as the gel doesnt move so the implants do not fold. Having said that if you have enough breast tissue or are going under the muscle the liklyhood of rippling is reduced (but you still may get slight rippling where the muscle doesn't cover the implant).

Re: A question about Rippling....
Thank you misf1. I will have a look now. I've noticed you have high profile implants and had overs like me, do you mind me asking you if you have rippling? I have the CUI's too x

Re: A question about Rippling....
Yep I have high profile overs and had less tissue than you to start and have no rippling at all, not when bent forward or anything. Do you think you have any or are you worried you might get it?
Re: A question about Rippling....
No sorry Hun. Just worrying because my Surgeon mentioned it and I didn't really know much about it. Thanks for the info, it's good to know you don't have it. Fingers crossed I don't either.
I am getting my tape of on Tuesday so I will be able to have a proper look at my new additions then x

Bet you can't wait for the big reveal. Try not to worry hun. I'm sure you will be fine.
Re: A question about Rippling....
I get slight rippling and I had 340cc CUIs. You cant see it, it's only when I feel my boobies (get used to that!) that I can feel slight rippling on my right outer edge.
Re: A question about Rippling....
Thanks Roxy! I will soon find out, getting my tape taken off today so will see what they are like properly today. Can't wait. Means I can shower too x

Re: A question about Rippling....
I had 340 CUI overs and have a little bit of rippling, but not much and its not visible, I can just feel it. It's very very minor and hasn't been a problem for me to be honest.
