BAAPS alert for women who have had surgery abroad
Just received an alert from BAAPS re PIP implants being sold under a different name.
Women who have been abroad for breast surgery, please check you were not given M-Implant devices from a company called Rofil Medical. These are basically PIP implants which were re-branded and sold to a number of different clinics abroad.
These implants have no protective shell and are filled with a gel that is said to be intended for use in mattresses.
if you have, please contact your clinic and your GP and insist you are checked out at the soonest instance.

Re: BAAPS alert for women who have had surgery abroad
There's no mention of timescale on the release. I assume it would be within the past few years, but may be worth asking your friend to check which implants she has anyway.
If she's had them for nine years it's highly unlikely, but worth checking.

That's shocking but doesn't surprise me to be honest
