How do i check my boobs for lumps with overs !!!

Hi girls this is something that's been bothering me for a while now Screwy

before my op i could feel every lump and bump in my boobs now iv got overs all i can feel is the implant and im a little worried that if i did get any lumps in my boobs im not going to be able to feel them or see them because the implants in the way ??? !!! help

I also had this concern as I have a history of breast cancer in the family. I also had overs in December. Surgeon reassured me that although implants are over the muscle, they are still under all the breast tissue so any lumps will be on top of the implant. In fact he said that although they don't advertise it as a reason to have a BA, implants can actually make it easier to feel lumps as the implant provides a smooth surface against which to push the breast tissue against when checking. I personally have definately found this is the case. However, please don't just take my word for this - might be worth discussing with your surgeon/ follow up care. Good luck!

Thanks for your advice Hun feel reasured now .. Do you know i was that excited about having my boobs done i didnt even think to ask this question how silly is that ?? But i do feel better after reading your post thankyou thank you

I've read the same thing, the over the muscle placement is above the muscle but below the breast tissue/glands. This would mean any lumps would be pushed forward by the implant so it is easier and quicker to find lumps. The supposed bad point with overs is they interfere with mamograms, although reading lots of information and studies on this its not really proven and whther you have overs or unders you have to tell the person doing the mamogram so they can take additional images.
