Re: lumps
Any lumps found in the breast Pixie should ALWAYS be investigated.
I'd advise you make an appointment with your GP lovely and have them check them over. If they will feel it necessary they'll then refer you on for further investigation.
Its not worth seeing your surgeon. They'll only send you on to your GP, so save yourself time Pixie and go straight to your GP. Xx

Re: lumps
Thanks cookie! Was hoping someone would say its just the implant lol! I had appointment with gp this morning about something else, I know I should have mentioned it but was too scared as the lumps are hard pea like size so guessing its not just the implant :-( I will get another appointment booked! Re: lumps
Call and explain your reason to the recto ionise Pixie and explain your concern. I'm sure they'll get you in sooner. Xx
Re: lumps
Wow, 17th July?! Thats crazy! You need to see someone now, not in a months time, if only for peace of mind! I'd definitely call back and demand better. If you can't, is there an nhs walk in Centre near you? Utilise that if so. It might be a wait, but hrs not weeks!

Re: lumps
Hey hun, I'd definitely call back and request a more urgent appt. some things can wait a month and some can't, imo this most certainly can't. Unless you tell them the receptionist booking the appts won't know. Let us know if you manage to get another appt xxxxx

Re: lumps
Hi
I agree with everyone above. You have the right to request an urgent appointment or if not to ask them to find another GP who can see you urgently. I think if you explain to the receptionist (or if necessary practice manager) why you want the appointment they should fit you in. Most GP's do have urgent slots free, even if their routine clinics are booked up. Might mean you have to sit and wait to get slotted in but I am sure you will get seen xx

Re: lumps
The way GP surgeries work now is this- they only have certain amount of appointments available on the day and you will have to ring up the moment the surgery opens.
If you ring up after 12pm their automated systems will only make available some routine appointments that can be booked for 3-4 weeks ahead.
So first port of call ring up in the morning and ask to see a GP. Any GP. If they refuse- just turn up at the GP surgery and say you would like to see someone and are willing to wait. By law they can't turn you away once you are there and someone will see you. You may need to wait few hours though but that's the worst case scenario. I had to do that once and tbg I got seen in 20minutes!
I had lumps (pea sized )few years back that I felt when having a shower and it turned out to be a cyst. That dissolved in 4 weeks on it's own. But it's always best to get them scanned for your own peace of mind. Keep us posted xxx

Re: lumps
Hi,
As Kdee has said if you phone 1st thing as soon as your surgery is open you should get an appointment same day, they have to keep so many appointments free each day. XXX

Re: lumps
I'm glad you got the referral Pixie. The majority of lumps are cysts, but its always best as I said in my initial post to have breast lumps investigated.
Hope you're OK though Pixie. I know just finding a lump can be very scary and I just want you to know we're here for you hun

Re: lumps
They generally don't have you wait long for investigation babe. So hopefully you'll be seen very soon.
You come here and talk as much as you'd like to about this Pixie. I fully understand how hard that wait is so please do lean on us throughout that wait.

Re: lumps
Just realised I never updated this post! I had my appointment at the hospital and got a scan to see what the lumps were. They said it was nothing to worry about and probably just scar tissue around the implant! Im a bit confused, does this mean im more likely to develop cc?! xx

Re: lumps
Not at all Pixiedust. It just means that you. May have some excess collagen in that area as the capsule formed which could then lead to a lump that's all babe.
If you're suffering any pain from this though and you are still within your aftercare policy, you could request to have the lump removed by your surgeon. If it's not bothering you at all though I personally wouldn't put myself through any unnecessary surgery. Xxx
