OMG i didnt realise how many types there are!!
hi ladies me again with another question!!
after seeing some replies on my last thread where i was worried id chosen wrong size (which i am now cool with!!) I am confused and worried again!! ( i do a LOT of worrying drive my OH mad!!) when i had my consultation the surgeon said he was going to use a non rippling implant, well thats what i thought he said but it seems i may hav misheard him as there is no such thing lol! so i believe he said he was going to use one with less chance of this, so here comes my worry now... What are all these different types!! i was naiive i think and didnt realise how many there were, and all with confusing codes like cui cmh or something! does anyone know what these are in an easy to understand way please? and also are the ones i am having any good and fda approved?!! thanks xx

Aw hun in is confusing, Allegan is the manufacturer, CUI is a range/type of implant they make I cant remember what they stand for. click here for a link to the implant catalogue. Transform use the allergan CUI implants as standard and I believe they still come with a 10 year guarentee. These are good implants but they are not FDA approved. The allergan (manufacturer) naturelle inspira (range) soft touch (type of gel) correct me if I'm wrong girls as I get confused, these are the FDA approved implants that come with a lifetime guarentee (just for replacement of implant, does not cover surgery costs). These implants cost more and you will have to ask for them and pay an additional cost. You can find the implant catalogue here

ps you aren't being thick, i promise you.

Re: OMG i didnt realise how many types there are!!
I dont have personal experience of them, but I have read up on them. They are supposed to wrinkle less than softer implants which is why they produce less rippling. This can give them a firmer feel compared to other implants. Both the implants I've mentioned above are the highly cohesive gummi bear style (gummi bear like the sweet, you cut them in half and the inside doesn't move). I believe you are being offered the CMH by transform which are not FDA approved. These are in the first link, they were known as Inamed previously.
There are so many types and makes of implant I dont think I could name them all.

Hi Kimmy,
I cant give you any great advice like misf1 but I can reassure you that you're not alone! Dont feel bad about not knowing this stuff, theres so much more to it than you'd think! I didnt research it before my BA and thankfully have been given good implants, so you're ahead of me by looking into now instead of after!
Good luck with your decisions hun xxx
