New Scary Frankenboobies
Hi all,
yes I say Frankenboobies, because I am only just 48hours post op, so I am at the angry, shiny, rubbery, pointing in the opposite direction stage.
I have lots of things to ask as I seem to have spent my whole recovery time reading and re-reading posts just to make sure that everything is as it should be.
Firstly, I would love some help in changing my name, as 'nothappywithboobs' is not really appropriate anymore :boobchick:
From a 36AA, I am now wearing a 36E sports bra (that still has a bit of space in). I am really swollen and tight, am I likely to get any bigger, or will I just go down a size due to swelling. I am hoping that boob envy wont factor because James gave me 560cc overs which was a bit of a shock to be fair, but I did want DD-E's, so if that what it took to get me there, then so be it.
How long does this rubbery/tight feeling last? along with the extremely painful morning boob?
How long do I have to sleep on my back ?(or should I say dose as I dont seem to shut my eyes for more than half an hour at a time)
How long is it before I can use my arms again and lift them over my head (at least to put a t-shirt on).
I must also say that this site has been absolutely invaluable throughout my BA journey and beyond. I am so chuffed to be a part of it xxxx
Thank you all so much

Re: New Scary Frankenboobies
Frankeinboobs I remember lasting a couple of weeks. By the time I got to about 10-14 days they were looking more normal and less cone-shaped. I was tight and itchy feeling for about a week. Morning boob lasted maybe 2-3 weeks. I remember day 3 post op being the worst, that's when I was most sore, post op blues hit, and lots of ladies say the same about day 3.
I didn't have a huge amount of swelling in my boobs, more in my chest itself and have grown rather than shrunk.
I think I could gently lift arms over my head about 4-5 days post op, but very very gently and nowhere near full lifting.
You're very very early days hun. Just try to relax (easier said than done), have patience and listen to your body.

Re: New Scary Frankenboobies
I've never known anyones boobs go down, this is due to the fact that although swelling does go down, if you have unders the muscle holds down the implant and if you have overs the skin and breast tissue is very tight over the implant and can also hold it down, as time goes by most find they do get bigger, whether it just be in look because their boobs soften and look more natural, or they can also increase in cup size.nothappywithboobs wrote:

I found mine lasted about a month, then got replaced with shooting pains which could take my breath away because my nerves were knitting back together

I was told about 2 weeks but then i had to hug a pillow to sleep on my side as I couldn't get used to the weird feeling, but hugging a pillow or the duvet helped.
I had overs and managed it enough at 3 days to put a t-shirt on, with a bit of difficulty. By 3 weeks I could lift my arms no problem. How long is it before I can use my arms again and lift them over my head (at least to put a t-shirt on).

Hi hun
you're very early on, stick with it - I'm now 10 days post op - have a look at my diary. I was able to very carefully was my hair over the bath on Friday after my op on Monday and didn't need to take any pain killers from the Friday. I had 315 unders
Take it easy - my boobs became much more real once I had the strapping off & the bra went on.

Re: New Scary Frankenboobies
I washed my hair over the bath on Day 3 without too many problems - but blow drying it afterwards took about 4 times as long as normal as I had to keep taking a break to rest my arms.
I managed to get into a top (also on Day 3) by laying it out on the bed and kneeling down in front of it - and then kind of 'dived' into it with my arms at shoulder height (couldn't really lift them any higher as they were sore from styling my hair LOL). Once my arms were in, I kind of wriggled my way in the rest of the way.
Initially my nipples pointed downwards towards the floor, but over the following seven days they started tilting back towards pointing in the right direction.
They will sort themselves out though hunnie, James is a good surgeon and I'm sure the 'Frankenboobs' are just a transitional stage which you will have to pass through to get the boobies you will love

Thanks ladies, your advise is absolutely invaluable.
I think I will brave the 'outside' today and drag my OH around Asda lol, suppose I should look to getting some more meals that are easy for him to cook xxx

Lots of changes to come yet hun, everyone is different but the girls have a given you an idea as to what to expect. We all heal at different rates, just listen to you body and try to take it easy, don't try to do too much, too soon. Your lovely new boobies will settle and relax when their ready, but it will take time. Be patient hun!! xx

Re: New Scary Frankenboobies
Ah bless you Nicolaxxxx, good luck honey.
Already, however, since my post, they are looking a little more normal and not like two rubber balls strapped to my chest.
Happy healing, its a great journey and I wouldnt go back to my pre-op status for anything xxx

Re: New Scary Frankenboobies
Yes I do know, and nothing anyone will say will make it any better. Funnily enough though I did sleep the night before, it was 2 or 3 days before that I didnt sleep. After waiting 14 years to have a feminine figure and not to turn the light off when I got changed or having to wear padded bras everytime I wanted to wear a nice top or dress and feeling depressed everytime I had a bath or shower, or when my OH tried to touch them, I knew for a fact I was doing the right thing.
That kind of overshadowed any feelings of nervousness

Mine were empty too hun, after 3 kids and breastfeeding the last one (22 months ago), she left me with two beavers tails. I was a D at my biggest, down to a AA in a few months, totally soul destroying. I cant wait to hear how you get on x
