OH MY GOD Is this a new HUGE stretchmark???
Hi girls
Sorry to keep posting different questions but I'm a total worrier!!
I have this huge purple gash on the top of one of my boobs, which I thought was where the tape was rubbing before I cut it off but now I'm terrified it's a new big purple stretch mark?? How do I tell the difference between a new stretch mark and maybe a gash reaction from where some of the tape edge was? The mark is really high up I'm gutted if it's a stretch mark cos I won't even be able to get away with vest tops without it showing.
Anyone had a purple gash as a reaction to the latex bandage/tape?
Thanks for any advice
xxxxx

Think its a bit too early for a stretch mark normally they would take a few weeks Xxxxx

I'm also sure that stretch marks take some weeks to develop, I didn't have a latex bandage so I'm afraid I can't help you with the 'comparison' but you can always call your clinic and see if they can reassure you, that's what they are there for hun.
If it does turn out to be a stretch mark you could try using Bio oil, it has great healing properties and is meant be a little 'miracle' in a bottle!!!!!
Good luck hun and let us know how you get on. xx

Thank you so much Ang I hope its just where the tape ended thats caused it, I wish I'd of taken more notice when I was taking them off! So as far as we know stretch marks take a few weeks to come after a boob job?

Re: OH MY GOD Is this a new HUGE stretchmark???
I don't know if this is even similar, and I'm still pre-BA, but when I was breastfeeding my boobs expanded to huge proportions practically over night, and within about 4 days these tiny little purple marks appeared, which slowly over time grew and grew until they were like giant purple welts on my boobs. They're practically invisible now (somehow), but I was just thinking that if it is a stretchmark I can't see that it would appear so massively and so quickly!!
Hmm.. also when I was in labour, I had this thing put around my arm (I think to measure my blood pressure), and it was extremely tight! (they forgot to take it off because things got a little bit hairy), anyway, I didn't notice how tight it was at the time, but for a good couple of weeks after I had these big purple marks on my arm, that actually looked like stretch marks. It could be something similar on your boob maybe? They went pretty quickly like any normal bruise would, they just didn't look like a bruise.
Otherwise hun, I'm out of ideas I'm afraid!!

Lindylou your right, I had the same thing with the arm band thing aswel. Oh thanks so much girls for making me feel better, I guess I'll see if it's faded a bit by tomorrow and if it has I might be ok. What you've explained though is just like how it looks! Purple/red and speckly oh God I hope your right. Thanks so much

Re: OH MY GOD Is this a new HUGE stretchmark???
could be where the skin is stretched and therefore thinner, you can possibly see a vien?
Re: OH MY GOD Is this a new HUGE stretchmark???
Can't see a vain it's just like a graze really, as if you've ripped a plaster off too quick, I hope so anyway. Misf1 did you get any stretch marks? I've also just noticed a bit of wet on one of my boobs where the skin has blistered and burst uhhh.

Re: OH MY GOD Is this a new HUGE stretchmark???
sounds like blisters hun an allergic reaction which will probably only get worse if I#m honest. I would give your clinic a call and tell them, see if you can take it off. I didn't get any stretchmarks, I prepaired myself for them as I have them nearly everywhere, but I didn't get any on my boobs?
Re: OH MY GOD Is this a new HUGE stretchmark???
Been reading through all the comments, is stretch marks a big worry? Is it likely i'll get loads? xxx

Re: OH MY GOD Is this a new HUGE stretchmark???
It all depends on your skin type hun, and how elastic it is... also how much bigger you're going too.
Have you got any stretch marks already? On your tummy or hips or anything?
It really is a bit of a lottery and there's no real way of knowing, especially if you've never had kids/put on lots of weight etc etc...
Lots of people are worried about it, but if you do get stretch marks, they really do fade over time. I had awful ones when I first started breastfeeding as my boobs blew up like balloons over a couple of days... they were properly deep and purple, but if you want to see how my stretch marks are now, just PM and I'll let you see my pics (I'm pre BA though lol).

Hey hun i've had two kids was very strange i didnt get one stretch mark with my first but with my second i got some little ones on my boobs but thats it, i'm worried now!!!!! I've been using bio oil already everyday to reduce anything that happens, what a shame though for them to be ruined by stretch marks, it will really put a damper on things!!!! xxxxxxxxx

Re: OH MY GOD Is this a new HUGE stretchmark???
Yeah, other way round for me. My first gave me no stretchmarks on my belly, but tonnes on my boobs, then my second gave me horrible ones on my hips and none on my boobs!!
It is a shame when the stretch marks appear, but my surgeon told me that if you have some already on your boobs and they have already been stretched then you might be less likely to get new ones. He also said that implants will "fill out" the marks I already have, and help to improve their appearance even more!

Re: OH MY GOD Is this a new HUGE stretchmark???
I was hoping that might happen (fill out the marks i already have), mine are hardly noticeable so I'm not overly worried as i know they will fade.
I just hope it not one more thing to bash my confidence once i have the boobs i've always wanted xxxx

Re: OH MY GOD Is this a new HUGE stretchmark???
Hay Hun.............stretchmarks normally start a bright red colour but then fade to purple & end up silver after a few years.
They can just turn up over night, all mine did when i was pregnant
But like i said it takes a while before the turned purple for me...also you can normally feel if you rub over a stretchmark it kinda dent in the skin where the skin has separted & become weak.
Hope this helps

Re: OH MY GOD Is this a new HUGE stretchmark???
Hun, the girls give good advice.
But my advice would be - calm down a bit and stop actually looking at your boobies for a couple of days to let them settle a bit!!! I know you are excited and prob a little impatient but if you stop looking then you cant panic over things (which may or may not be nothing).
I know that sounds a bit harsh, so I'm sorry, but I think it best that you just stop looking!! (Although I'll prob be the same when I have mine done so feel free to quote it all back to me!!!!)

Re: OH MY GOD Is this a new HUGE stretchmark???
It might just be a bruise where the tape was rubbing. If you said there was an uncomfortable sensation before, then there was prob some irritaion and it may fade quite soon. Maybe some capillaries broke because of the tape rubbing. Is it sore?

Re: OH MY GOD Is this a new HUGE stretchmark???
I got about 9 of them after my ba, there are like pressure marks where the blood vessels burst under the skin. No permanent damage but don't panic if they take a couple of weeks to go...they kind of fade gradually but I promise if it's this (and it sounds exactly like it, stretch marks aren't speckled) they WILL go completely. Sounds like a bruise of some kind hun. Or from having the tape come off.

Hi ToriLoula Sounds like you're in a right state, but from the description above, esp the speckly bit, it sounds like where the tape was very tight and the pressure has drawn blood to the surface - perhaps more so when you took it off. A bit it like a love bite on your boob Chillax hun, I'm sure it will be fine in a few days xxx
