is 3 months long enough?
Hey girls, think i'm just having last minute nerves but i've only really wanted a ba for the last 3 months and am (hopefully) having the surgery on 3rd feb. Do u think this is too soon? I have thought about it in the past but never seriously thought i would do it. I am actually obsessed now though and spend all day every day thinking about new boobs. I kinda feel like i'm rushing into things but this is because if i don't do it now i'll prob have to wait til december (i'm self employed and need someone to cover my work) til i can do it again. I have done my research and am happy with my surgeon (Michael Cadier at Bmi) Whats your thoughts girls? Too soon or do u think i can be sure in that amount of time? Would really appreciate your advice X x

Re: is 3 months long enough?
Tough one hun!!
I think it's natural to have up's and down's along the way... right now I'm having a down because I'm about to hand over 4k and it feels like far too much money!!
If you've done all your research and you're happy with your surgeon, and you're sure about the result you want... go for it!!! I mean, don't make yourself wait for 2 years just in case you change your mind!! Some of us on here have spent about ten years waiting for our BA's... and I can tell you personally that I want mine as much now as I did when I was 15, or 20 or last month etc.
Only you can be certain and you definitely shouldn't do something you don't want to, but if it's what you really want then I don't think there should be a time frame at all!! If you're worried you're being impulsive I can tell that you're not because you've done your research!!
Good luck in whatever you decide! We're all here for you :-)

I agree with the girls comments here, I think only you know whats right for you but if its just nerves holding you back then be brave and bold and go for it, if you are not happy with your body its your chance to make changes in your life that should make you happy, if it just doesnt feel right then dont rush, this is your journey and its all about you... were all here for you

Re: is 3 months long enough?
I thought about it often when I was in my late teens and early twenties, you know "oh, I'd love a boob job" sort of thing, but never thought I would actually have one. Then quite a few years and 2 pregnancies later I became really unhappy and looked into it more seriously. From this point it all happened pretty quickly for me too - consultations started end Sep 2010, surgeon chosen and date booked in Nov and op booked for Jan. I was supposed to go in last Friday and in the few days before I was excited, but also questionning if I was doing the right thing and what if I wasn't happy with the end result. Then with less than 24 hours to go, my op was cancelled as my surgeon had flu. I was crushed - because I had so many arrangements to unpick, but mainly because I felt it was 'my time'. The silver lining to what happened is that I realised how badly I want this done and I am now sure that I am doing the right thing.
Kat, maybe project yourself forward to some significant dates this year and think about how you might feel with and without having the surgery? Good luck xx

Re: is 3 months long enough?
I decided within about 3 days that I was going to have it done! It was something that I'd kind of 'pondered' over the years, but definately didn't obsess about or have crippling confidence issues about. 3 days before finalising my new mortgage I realised it was the one opportunity I might ever have to get the money I'd need to get it done - so I decided to add an extra 4,000 to my mortgage to pay for it and started researching properly! 3 months later, I'm here 2 weeks post-op with a wonderful new pair of boobies!
I think what I'm saying is - having a BA doesn't have to be something you've obsessed about for years to make it 'right' for you. It's not a competition about who wants one the most being the one who 'should' have one! If it feels right for you and you can afford it without worry, then is say go for it!

Re: is 3 months long enough?
I think we all come to the point of deciding to have them fixed in different ways and over different time spans, and no one way is more right than any of the others. Deep down inside you will know if it is the correct decision for you and if that decision comes within a week or 30 years, it cannot alter the fact that it will be the right decision for you and if you have the means and ability to pay for it, then go for it hunnie. Life is too short so enjoy the benefits that it will bring you whilst you are still young enough to enjoy them together with the added confidence and belief in yourself.
Don't however confuse nervousness with doubt about whether you really want/need the operation - all of us will suffer nervousness about the operation (some more than others), that is only natural considering what we are doing. If you get excited or get butterflies doing aerobatics inside your tummy when you think about having your BA, then I don't really believe you have any doubts about whether it is the right thing for you to be doing.
Good luck hunnie, it really is an emotional roller coaster

Re: is 3 months long enough?
I'd wanted a BA for years, knew I couldn't afford it so put it to the back of my mind. When I did have money for it, I'd have had it done the same day if I could have. I think if you've always known you wanted one and now you are seriously considering booking, as long as you have done your research, I'd say go for it.
Re: is 3 months long enough?
Thankyou so so much for your replies everyone. It really helps to be able to talk about this with people that understand. I think you are all right, its just nerves. I have never been happy with my boobs so i think this is the right thing to do. My heart says yes my head says no but sod that cos I WANT BOOBS! I cant really afford it though, if something goes wrong and i cant work i'd be in major trouble. If i wait til i've saved my business will be more established and i wont be able to take 6 weeks off. So ive applied for a loan, fingers crossed. Carrie i cant imagine how down u felt when ur op was cancelled. You must have been hyped up ready to go for it. But like you said, atleast now you know you are def doing the right thing. Its such a big decision to make i suppose its normal to have wobbles. Cant wait til the only wobbles im getting are from fab new boobies! Thanks again girls, you are all so kind. Xx

Re: is 3 months long enough?
I'm in exactly the same boat Hun. Had my first consultation in November and my second only recently. The surgery have availability for this Sunday and I'm going for it! I do think it's rather impulsive but I've been thinking about it for the past 3 months. Like you said, I wondered if this was long enough. Although I had thought about it previously I didn't think it was something I'd actually do. But in reality I don't know what the point on waiting around is, might aswell get the recovery started right?! Xx

Exactly how i feel Wonderwoman! The sooner we have it done the sooner we'll be back to normal. You have less time to get stressed and worried about it if u have it done sunday, sounds like a good plan. I kinda feel that i must be serious otherwise i wouldnt spend so much time dreaming in 'boobsville'! I wish i could have mine this weekend, i'm still waiting to hear if i can get a loan or not. Best of luck for sunday, how exciting! x

Re: is 3 months long enough?
I talked about having mine done for years but never really did anything about it. Then my husband said I could have some of the money we made from our last house and as soon as we had the deposit I was booking my surgery. Lots of people get nerves when they have booked. If that's all that's holding you back then don't let it. It's something only you know hun. There's no length of time that you need to wait.
