Side boob?
Most of my current breast tissue is at the sides, with very little at the front, no cleavage possible.
Is this likely to mean that I'll have side boob and less likely to have cleavage?
It's something I'll be asking the surgeon as I guess it'll determine the profile/projection of the implant.
I just wondered whether you have to be built that way to start with.
I didn't even know about 'side boob' until I joined BJSF!!

Re: Side boob?
Oh yes, you learn a lot on here hun. My pre-op boobs always had a central gap (no cleavage) and tended to lie to the side, my PS told me whatever I started with, I would finish with....the difference now is I still have side boobs but they look gorgeous and full and my central gap has closed up slightly and with a bra my cleavage is wicked!! The implant will fill out the natural pocket that you have now hun, your PS should be able to confirm this with you. xx

Re: Side boob?
I was the same pre op and still have a bit gap now when I'm not wearing a bra but they push together really well and I get a fab cleavage now. X

Thanks for that ladies. Maybe there's hope for a cleavage for me then.
Fingers crossed!

Re: Side boob?
I had a similar issue , with having a very wide gap before my op and very little boobage. I now still have quite a large gap (not as much as before) and it can be annoying sometimes that I can't get cleavage in certain bras. I did ask our surgeon on here James McDiarmid about it and if you want your boobs closer together you need wide implants. Plus he mentioned about chest shape and rib angle which can affect the outcome. I'll find a link now and post it here for you.
It's deffo something to talk over with your surgeon, but cleavage is deffo possible.

In my opinion the possibilities for cleavage depend more on the shape of your chest and rib cage than anything else.
This factor is only very rarely mentioned in surgical assessment but is absolutely vital in terms of determining how likely you are to close the gap between the breasts.
So... if your ribs slope away quite a lot it is more likely you will start and fisnish with a significant gap between the implants and there isn't a whole lot that can be done about this.
If your ribs are pretty straight then you are more likely to start and finish with less of a gap.
Re: Side boob?
Hmm I see.
Thanks for the link too Misf.
I might get DH to look at my ribs then. It's another thing to ask Mr O'Donoghue about.
I do hope he isn't freaked out by the number of questions I now have because it's getting to be a sizeable list!!

Re: Side boob?
Side boob is where you have alot of boob lol
Its not incorrect placement just where the implant edge is wider than normal breast width I believe. I have lots of side boob, it rubs on my arms hehe

If you type it into google also ^_^

U can see in my avatar how wide my boobs are in a normal soft cup bra that doesnt push them inwards.

Re: Side boob?
See my boobs were quite wide and I didnt have a very big gap (even though i didnt have enough boob to make a cleavage before). Now I have had my BA with mod profile implants (to fill the wideness), I can get a cleavage but I like the look of a wide gap pushed together like this )(
I see how missf1 and sally's are when pushed together, mine don't do that )( look very much, I guess we will always want what others have got

Re: Side boob?
those brackets came out wider than i thought I am talking about the 'v' at the top of a cleavage, if you know what I am talking about -mine don't do that because they are already quite close together if this makes any sense at all
