Hi everyone,

I'm so glad I found this website! I had BA on 02 Dec 10 so I am just over 3 weeks post op. When I had my post op check up my left breast had dropped more than the right so my Dr told me to wear the strap to push the right side down. When I got home I tried to use the strap but it caused so much pain. I emailed my Dr (I'm from Australia and I had my surgery in Thailand) and he said not to worry about the strap and just to push down on the breasts for a couple of minutes each day.

I didn't really have much pain to begin with and I was wearing underwire bras about a week after surgery. In the last week however, my right breast seems to have settle but the left side is bigger and its almost like I can feel the implant moving around (I had under the muscle). Also the skin from the nipple down and my left nipple are extremely sensitive and numb. I am finding it difficult to even wear a bra with no underwire.

I am starting to panic and I think I just need some reassurance from others that have had similar issues (if anyone has). Having it done in Thailand was fantastic but not having easy access to my Dr means I have to rely on what I read online.

Any support / help would be sooooo greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone and I hope you all had a fantastic xmas! dance

Hello and welcome to BJSF Hails. nipple and skin pain 368291

Were you instructed to by your surgeon to wear an underwired bra from 1 week post-op?

This seems to be counter-productive to me, as the underwired bra will be forcing your boobs up, yet you need to wear a strap to encourage the breasts to drop? nipple and skin pain 727885

The feeling of the implant moving around is due to it not yet adhereing to the pocket yet and needs to be stabilised to do this, pushing the implant up and then forcing it down won't be helping I shouldn't imagine.

I would get yourself into a sportsbra hun, a well supported one that's going to help that implant position and then, I know the strap hurts, but if you want that breast to drop hun, you have to put up with it being uncomfortable for a while, pop that on and Email your surgeon about about the underwire instruction he/she gave you and ask if the sportsbra would be a better option till you're healed?

As for the numbness and extreme nipple sensitivity, that's normal babe. Try cushioning your nipples with those round make-up pads or breast feeding pads if you'd prefer, the softness just eases the sensitivity. xx
