Which cream to prevent more stretch marks?
Hi I have my new implants in 14th Jan and have just thought should I be using some cream to prevent more stretch marks? I already have quite bad ones from my first BA and breast feeding 3 kids and weight loss but I was hoping the new bigger implants would 'fill them out' and make them less noticable? Is this the case or am I just kidding myself? Its not the silvery part that bothers me, its the fact that from one angle you can bearly see them as they are skin colour but then in a slightly differnt light/angle they reflect dark purple uuuh! Will bigger implants help with this?
Is there any cream I can use that will stop new ones forming?
Thanks for your advice in advance.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion is the one which many of the ladies here use and recommend ToriLoula - and I am now starting to use this too - click here to see details about it.

I used Clarins body treatment oil (firming, toning) through both my pregnancies and after. I've quite a bit left so have started using it again. I'm very fortunate and have no stretch marks - although I'll never really know if my good furtune was my skin, genetics or the oil I'm v happy with it though and have recommended it to others!

I loved Palmers Cocoa butter when i was pregnant with my son.....can't stand the smell now as i overdosed on it When i had my BA & now as i am pregnant again i am usuing the Vasaline Cocoa butter. Same thing just smells nicer to me. Not that Palmers is awful.....it was just overuse in my last pregnancy that made me gag at it I'll prob hate the smell of the Vasaline one after this baby x

Re: Which cream to prevent more stretch marks?
Hi hun, unfortunatly there is no cream that will prevent stretchmarks, if you are going to get them you will. The only thing you can do is keep your skin hydrated (drink lots of water) moisturise skin (I used palmers) and eat a healthy diet (plenty of fruit and veg). This will give you the best chance of minimiseing stretchmark risk.
I used tea tree oil in my bath on lead up to my op also used palmers cocoa butter and bio oil in the lead up and after my BA from day one, making sure I didn't get any on scars.

Re: Which cream to prevent more stretch marks?
Im a Advanced Skincare Therapist and would like to say for the amount you pay for Bio Oil you could spend a little more and get a much better result - Use Vitamin A creams on scarring every day and you will see a huge result. You will prevent them alot better if you use the products a few months continually before your op to strengthen the skin.Unfortunately Bio Oil is actually better at preventing scarring than healing it....Basically just read its ingredients.....I am using my Vit A face cream to try and strengthen my skin - I already have stretch marks on them and I have weak skin so I know that I will more than likely get more but considering once they are there you can never fully get rid of them I would much rather do the whole prevention rather than cure thing - As above, if you are going to get them then you will either way but its just how bad...The product range I work with is called Environ - They have an A C and E Body Oil that is AWESOME!!!! - although a little pricey, but its worth it.You cant buy it off the internet though so hopefully there is a skin clinic near you?Just google it for your area..
As for pre-existing ones it would help but with stretch marks you will never get rid of them...If they are still pink you can do a fair bit but when they have gone silver you are limited. For example though - With Environ they have a product called a Roll-Cit, Its a roller with tiny needles on it (you cant feel them when you use it though)that enhances the penetration of products and creates micro traumas in the skin to encourage collagen production. The combonation of using the "Hydrating Lotion" (An AHA body product), then the "Roll-Cit" and finishing with the "A C and E Body Oil" every day can make massive changes to skin texture, scarring and tone. It does take time and a lil bit of money but Vitamin A is the most amzing thing for skin cells. Hope this is helpful - If you dont have an Environ stockist near you then a range that has a type of needling roller should be strong/effective enough to use. I wouldnt bother buying products that claim to contain Vitamins from the Supermarket and would be dubious about off-the-shelf products form pharmacys etc. They generally only have enough vitamins in them at the time of manufacture to be able to put them on their label - Usually by the time you actually get to use it the vitamins have oxidised and are useless...Also products in pots with vitamins will oxidise quickly because you expose the product to air every time you open it..Hmm I could go on for ever :) Hope this has been helpful girlies!! .

Oh and take high doseage Omega 3's too - aim for 3000mg per day. Those who are a little older (menopuase) should take up to 7000mg!But if you take too much your body will tell you - funny tummy etc. Omega 3's make the cell walls permeable and stretchy so helps to prevent stretch marks! Again - be wary of some pharmacy brands - check your consumer guides for good brands or ask a naturopath etc

Also would like to add that the Palmers etc would have been great to stop Trans Epidermal Water Loss or TEWL for short so it would have been a physical barrier and kept the hydration in the skin - another goodie :) Anything that leaves a film on the skin would help this man gotta shut up lol

Re: Which cream to prevent more stretch marks?
No worries, there is always something that you can do but once they are there they are really hard to improve - I got stretch marks as a teen from rapid weightloss and growth - boobs, arms, bum, back, thighs and calves so I have used myself as an experiment

Re: Which cream to prevent more stretch marks?
It does help to smooth the skin quite well but remember that skin has been stretched out and nothing other than a nip and tuck will change that, but one of the girls from work had that "puckered" sort of look in the tummy and it really helped to smooth the texture :good: awesome for cellulite too

Re: Which cream to prevent more stretch marks?
i was putting some cream on my boobs after about day 3 but NOT NOT NOT on your insicion site! just around the boob because i started to peel and the skin was very dry. after about 2 weeks i started putting the bio oil on them, on the healed insicion and the surrounding area and it hasnt stoped me getting stretch marks, maybe i should have started moisturising before the op but never mind, theyre starting to get better with time! xx
