Mya Clinic London + Nerves
Hi guys,
Mya Clinic London
Has anyone ever been here? I have a consultation booked in on Sat 25th April, just wondering how easy it is to get to and which part of London it is?
Ahh! Now I have something booked I'm starting to question wether this is something I really want to do! I'm pretty sure it is but, I'm nervous all of a sudden? It's like actually having an appointment makes it all the more real, when I'll I've done previously is say "That's something I'm going to do one day...". Now I might actually be doing it? Can't explain. TBH, I'm a bit worried about finances. My boyfriend says he'll lend me the money, but I already have a car loan and the thought of being in debt scares me, even though it's only to my boyfriend who loves me very much and will probably let me be in debt to him forever! Did any of you guys have these worries to begin with?

Aw hun, these feeling are totally normal, there was one lovely girl who actually opted out near the end because she was unsure what to do for the best despite wanting her BA for a while.
Finance is the big worry and it's only natural you will begin to doubt if it's worth it at all but if it's something that has been troubling you then i say it is worth you having it done because how better you will feel afterwards, ususally girls are glad they went through with it despite the pre-op apprehension.
As for the clinic, have a look in the surgeon & clinic section to see if there is anything in there hun
Good luck xx

Hey hun,
The MYA clinic in London is really easy to get to... it's in Holborn, a couple of tube stops away from Oxford Circus, & literally a 5-10 minute walk from the tube station. There's a map on their website & also on the back of the little appointment card they sent me through the post. The clinic is modern & clean & the staff are soooooo friendly.
The same thoughts went through my head a zillion times before I booked, this site didn't exist back then, but I posted all my worries on SoFem & realised it was a perfectly natural part of the process!

Hi hun,
when you have the consultation the Patient Coordinator will be able to answer most of your questions about time off work, recovery etc. Normally they advise at least one week off. I went with Mya and everyone was lovely and able to answer all my questions.
My suggestions to keep the gossip out, if you do decide to go through with the surgery, is to start padding up your bra gradually as your surgery date approaches, or even start wearing 2 bras towards the end if necessary. And also start wearing looser clothing before if you are used to wear tight shirts - so you don't suddenly change your fashion style after the op when you will want to wear loose clothes for a while for comfort and also because you will feel a bit self conscious at first. This way people will get used to see you with bigger breasts and they won't notice a difference afterwards, they may think you have gained weight but who cares. Just act natural and they won't know. And if someone does notice, well, as you say, it's none of their business, keep them wondering.
Mya clinic is in Sardinia House near Holborn station in London, by the way. Go to their website for an exact address... you go there for your consultations but they operate at the Highgate hospital.
I cannot answer the children question as I haven't had any (pre or post op!). it is possible that your breast will change after pregnancy as it would happen with normal breast. obviouly the implant won't shrink like real breasts do! But you may have loose skin that may require uplifting or filling up with a bigger implant. It is a very individual thing though, everyone's body recovers differently after pregnancy, so you might need no further surgery at all - but you will not know until it happens I am afraid!!!!
It is normal to feel nervous and you have to put all the pros and cons on a plate before deciding if it is for you - having doubts is healthy, it means that you will make a more informed decision and you will be 100% sure of what you are doing if you do go through with it. This is what initial consultations are about: to get all the info and then go back and think about it!

Re: Mya Clinic London + Nerves
Hi hun
Yes, I had all those worries too but I can honestly say that having my ba after all these years of feeling painfully unattractive has been the BEST thing I've ever done. (Apart from giving birth to my beautiful kids that is!)
If you want it enough then you won't regret it. When I had doubts I stripped off in front of the mirror and imagined I had to look like that for the rest of my life. That thought made me want to cry so I knew I had to do it, as scary as it was.
If you're unsure as to whether you need it, give yourself the time to make up your mind 100% and don't rush into anything. Just enjoy your consultation - it doesn't mean anything has to happen quickly but it'll help you make up your mind.
