advce really needed
Hey girlies well Ive just been to see my PS for my 7 week follow up. thought I had nothing to worry about ......
When ever I lift my right arm I feel like a pull down on my scar line thought this was just the muscles healing so didnt really worry but did mention it at my appointment. He gave me a full examination and then told me to look in the mirror and lift my arm when I did it looked like the muscle was popping out of the skin.
He said its nothing to worry about but I have Mondors disease I have never heard of it I have to take anti inflamatory drugs for ten days and massage by boobs at least three times a day !!!!
Has anybody heard of this I've looked through all the trheds and cant find anything on mondors disease
Thanks ladies xxxx

Re: advce really needed
It's a very common side effect and it does go, so dont worry, type in the search Mondors Chord and you will find lots of info
Re: advce really needed
Sorry I have not heard of this but I just wanted to send this your way
I am sure it was unsettling to find out there is a problem when you thought all was well.
I hope its better soon!

Re: advce really needed
Mondor's Cord is inflammation of a blood vessel. It isn't considered a "risk", per se. It heals on it's own, and causes no permanent damage.
The small vein that's visible is called Mondor's Cord. Mondor's Cord is not a complication. It resolves on it's own. Ibuprofen and warm compresses may be used for discomfort, which is usually fairly minor. One or more "cords" may be present, and is may also be seen in the arm (extending from the armpit to the elbow).

Re: advce really needed
I had this, lasted about a month and totally gone now.
I had no discomfort though, just funny little string things under my left breast crease. Felt odd when I touched them but otherwise OK.
I had my check up with my surgeon last month and tbh, forgot to say I'd even had it.
You will be fine xx

i had it, gone in a month and I took nothing for it. It can be in varyinf degrees but mine just looked like a raised line under the skin running down under the breast.

Re: advce really needed
I had this very mildly as well for a few weeks, I could never see the vein like in some of the pictures but I know exactly the pulling sensation you describe tinks. It does resolve itself soon, don't worry. xx
