Pre -Op ~ Not always needed?
Just a quicky while it's on my little brain....
I had my confirmation through from my PS secretary for BA.....Yay! Also a letter from BMI to confirm my op and time of admission.....what i must do/eat/drink etc... and registration, also a questionnaire asking about my health, history , dietry requirements....
(hahaha the form said overight stay = 10 nights. clerical error i guess! But that would be lovely.....10 nights of looked after, resting, no kids, a nurse to answer all my worries day and night....)
Anyway..... I have not had an appointment to go to the BMI for a pre-op. Am i right to assume that the questionnaire (which i returned already) is it?
I vaguely recall someone recently saying pre-op in hospital not always needed?
Thanks in advance girls, with all the xmas excitement I may not be here for a couple days.

Yes the short health questionnaire would be your pre op Hun, unless there's any serious or acute medical issues that you would have Made them aware about it's pretty basic. Mine was just a form, then a run through the morning of op with nurse and anethetist.
Ie. When you last ate, my weight was checked , any meds you currently take, even pill, and that you're generally fit and well for surgery, oh and any allergies to any meds.

If you're in good health with no previous medical history then some surgeons don't feel the need for a pre-op.
Generally if you work in a hospital or have been an inpatient within the last 6 months then MRSA swabs would be taken, but again, if this doesn't apply to you... You won't need to have those done either.
I wouldn't worry about it babe. Especially if you don't have a medical history.... However if you do, then I'd contact the clinic and explain whatever the health condition might be and whether that would require any pre-op tests being done. Xx
