Like the others have said hun its down to the surgon & if they prefer to use them....I would'nt let the fact that if a surgon you like uses them put you off that surgon , as like i say its painless but at the same time its nice to know what to exspect!

they just drain off extra fluid that builds up around the implant........I guess it help with swelling.............mine didnt even collect a drop so mine were pointless! lol

I had drains..glad I did as I suffered minimal swelling. I didnt have a problem with them at all and had them out the morning after my op. Just realy uncomfortable feeling being pulled out

I had drains, and I had no obvious swelling. One of mine hurt when it was taken out, but it only took about 3 seconds, so wasn't horrendous. the other one just felt odd and didn't hurt.

Yeah funny that - I didn't feel the one on my left taken out at all but I did with the right and although it idn't hurt it was a very odd sensation!! I have said above but I also had mimimal swelling but lots of fluid in my drains.

All down to surgeon preference, how much you bleed during surgery etc. Its pretty much impossible to know pre-op if you'll need them or not.
