Normal to feel scar tissue where the drain was? Empty Normal to feel scar tissue where the drain was?

Post by yolanda12310 17th September 2013, 4:52 pm

I can feel what I can only describe as scar tissue under the skin where the drains were on both breasts. One side is still bruised in that area and that is the side that is also where the 'scar tissue' feels fuller as the other side I can feel it but not as pronouched as the one with the bruising. I only just noticed it today so couldnt tell you whether its something I have always had since the drains were taken out. It doesnt hurt and its not showing signs of infection, just curious as to whether its normal and whetherit will go down. Luckily its not visable through the skin, just can feel it so could be worse.

Any comments welcome please.

Thanksin advance.

Thanks ladies for your replies.
Hows your revision surgery go Natty? Hope all is well. I need to take a look in the September bit to see what Ive been missing and still need a boobie avi!!
Just to add, the incision for the drains have healed completely, they are tiny dots now so not on about that part. But I can clearly feel where the drains were. What i can feel is a thin raised  line going from the entry hole of the drains, down and across to where I assume, the drains ended.

Absolutely normal Yolanda yes  I had what looked like a kind of big pimple, well that's the best way I can describe it were the drain had been and looked quite odd and I did fear it would stay that way. But massage is a wonderful thing. Little by little it breaks down that scar tissue until its barely visible at all hun.

So don't worry sweetie... It does go and you won't feel a single thing there at all when its finally healed. Xx

Yes hun, don't worry about the scar tissue just now. Let the wound heal first and then you can generally start massage from around 4-6 weeks post-op. xxx
