Bras for hospital?? Empty Bras for hospital??

Post by angelemma 7th November 2010, 5:26 pm

Hi Girls

I have been reading loads about which bras are best for support after a ba & uplift, and my PS has recommended the M&S zip up one which I was already going to buy. BUT he mentioned not needing one for the hospital which has confused me as I thought you took a couple of different ones and the nurse puts you in it before you go home?
Also am I right in getting one size bigger band-wise (I'm a 34 so should get 36) and bigger cup size than my desired outcome because of swelling?

If any of you have great recommendations of which bra was best for you after a ba & uplift I'd be grateful!! I have heard the macom post-surgery bra is brilliant but is it worth the money?

I had an uplift too sweetie and used the M&S zip front sportsbras. They were great because they're seemless and have a low fitting band so no worries about irritation to your scars and they're very supportive.

I'm a 32 band I took a 32DD, 34DD and a 34E bra.

I came home in the 34DD and a week later I was wearing a 36DD! I had so much swelling around my ribs.

I used M&S one too and took two sizes. Bought a 36 instead of normal 34 to allow for sweeling! x

He might be saying you don't need one for hospital cos he might bandage you up so it's not really neccessary to have a bra aswell?
I was covered in these sticky bandages after my op and the nurses said it was up to me if I wanted to put my sports bra on top aswell or not, and that it's only really needed once you're up and about.

I still put my sports bra on after a few hours though to feel a bit more secure.
The m&s zip up bra is good.
Get a few sizes and return what doesn't fit. xx
