back to work and i hurt
i went back to work today, i clean the kitchen at lunchtime for a nursey then in the evening for 2 and half hours i clean the nursery. i couldnt cope with the hoover but did the mopping and cleaned the toilets and windows ec, but may of been a bit too much, as i am really hurting now. i am getting shooting pains in my nipples, and when i move the muscles feel like they are gonna pop out the bottom of my boobs. i dont want to let my work down by taking anymore time off work and i really need the money i just dont know what i should do???? please advise me..

Re: back to work and i hurt
Is there anyone who could give you a hand in the evening with the heavy cleaning when the nursery is shut?
My mum used to have an evening cleaning job in an office that was a bit remote, so my dad used to go with her and then realised that rather than just waiting for her, if he mucked in too they could get it done in half the time.
If the nursery was closed the person helping you wouldn't have to have a CRB check either and you could probably still manage to do the lunchtimes on your own.
Haven't had my BA yet so can't advise you on whether the pain is normal but I think you should listen to your body and try to find another solution to taking more time off.
I will be the same as you, hoping to go back to childminding only 11 days after BA but will be employing an assistant to do the lifting - sometimes some money is better than no money!
Hope it is easier tomorrow x

If someone could help that would be a good idea. Try taking it easy when you're not at work as well.

Re: back to work and i hurt
i did ask before my op if my daughter could go in for me so as i wouldnt let anyone down and my daughter could earn some money from me, but they said because she hasnt had the crb check she couldnt do it, but i thought the same if the nursery was closed then it should be ok???? i really hate letting people down and am relying on my wages to make the payments for my new boobies. i think i will just have to take either my daughter or my fella in with me and just get on with it, they wont need to know and if they find out i will just have to say i cant do it physically on my own.. maybe , i think, oh im not sure...i cant lose my job and i dont like hurting?????

Re: back to work and i hurt
Are you there in the evening completely on your own? I think I would say that as you have just had an operation you would feel safer knowing there was someone else in the building incase you felt dizzy.

Re: back to work and i hurt
Hunni, sorry if this isn't the news you want to hear but... you really have to put your health before anything else!
A lot of people think that because this surgery is primarily 'cosmetic' it's not a serious procedure - It is! (That's not at all aimed personally at you trudster) Your body needs time to recover and regain it's strength.
Sadly hunni I think due to the nature of your job you're either going to have to talk to your boss about returning to only 'light duties' until you're able to do more (you'll be able to get a sick note from your doc to confirm you're unable to do heavy duties) or take another week off and see how you feel.
Mopping and washing windows is just too much at just 2 weeks post-op sweetheart and your body is letting you know - you could well end up needing a lot more time off if you don't take it easy hun so don't feel guilty! You had a serious op and your body needs to recover! xxx

Re: back to work and i hurt
Awww huni, i hope your boss understands and gives you some more time off,
but if not you should see your surgeon to sign you off for longer as jane says.
At the end off the day,you are still recovering from major surgery!! and if you push yourself too hard and dont rest now, it will take you longer to heal.
Hopefuly your boss could understand especialy being a woman.

Re: back to work and i hurt
OMG Trudster, you really need to be careful, you're supposed to give yourself 6weeks before you're back to normal and I would think that hoovering is one of the last things that you resume. I will have been off work for 3 weeks and feeling better now but still not attempted ironing and have to be careful not to over do it with general stuff around the house.
Take care and hope your boss is understanding

Re: back to work and i hurt
How you feeling today Hun?
I wouldnt have been in any fit state to go back to such hard work that soon after my op & you really should be trying to rest up as if not its only going to to take alot longer to heak if you keep straining yourself.
with your job i would get a note from your doctor till you have healed a bit better.

Glad you are able to rest a little longer - remember you have spent alot of money on your boobs, so worth taking a few extra weeks off to protect your investment. x
