Boobs or shoulder?
Don't really know what to do - I have had a frozen shoulder since July, have spent £200 at the Osteopath, had a cortisone injection at the drs and have been having NHS physio - I am still in quite a lot of pain, can't sleep at night and have very limited movement in that shoulder (which as a childminder is tricky).
Went to physio yesterday he said he can't do anything else for me and sent me back to drs for another injection - dr said she doesn't want to do it without further investigation, so is sending me for a ultrasound scan and then to a shoulder specialist.
I am just so worried that I will need an operation or manipulation to sort it out and it is really hard to take time off from my job, which is why I wanted to have my boobs done over Xmas - just really worried that the timings will clash and I will have to postpone boobs!
I can't have both done at same time and take extra time off to rest as after a BA you can't raise your arms above your head but after shoulder manipulation or surgery you have to have intensive physio lifting your shoulder up to keep it moving once the surgery has un jammed it.
Really hope the shoulder specialist can come up with a solution rather than surgery as I may need to take 12 weeks off work after that.
What would you do?

Re: Boobs or shoulder?
jellytot, dont have your boob job while you still have your frozen shoulder. (IMO)
i had one about 3 years ago and they can last a year or more and yes they bl**dy hurt. i also had injections, and saw a surgeon but didnt really want to go down that route. what i will say is that my regular osteopath had a baby and i found another that i saw for a while. he had a completely different take on frozen shoulder and basically said its the supraspinatus muscle that was weak so lead to the problem. its difficult to know what to think really but have a look where that muscle is on a diagram (its on your shoulder blade high up) and see if it feels tender to you. if so do some gentle strenghtening exercise. pm me as i will tell you what he showed me to do. perhaps try some reflexology as well as that may help you. i am a firm believer in complementary therapies (i am qualified in reflex and massage) even if they only bring about a feeling of relaxation for you that is a huge benefit. as i say, any questions feel free to pm me. good luck!

awwww hun what a difficult situation for you I think you need to see the specialist first before making any decisions babe. For me i would look at my shoulder first as this could effect me long term medically but thats just me and easy to say when your not in the same situation.
What ever you decide chick i hope everything goes your way big hugs xxx

Re: Boobs or shoulder?
I had this problem with my hernia op...................it was booked in 1 week after my B.A! Even thou i was told id be fine to have 2 G.A in that short space of time I really didnt fancy it & the though off haveing two big ops & tiwce the amount off recovery & pain just put me right off the idea.
I spoke to the NHS hospital & explained i had a private op booked in & Id have to pay to change it & that i didnt think i could cope with having tow ops in such a short time & they were completely fine about it........they just said once i was over my private op to give then a ring & they would sort out another date for my nhs op.

Re: Boobs or shoulder?
I have my first appointment with BA consultant on Monday - I wonder what he will suggest - I am really hoping to have it done at Xmas as my daughter is getting married next May and I don't want it done too close to that as we will have enough to worry about. I know I should put my shoulder first as that is medical and my boobs are cosmetic but the timing is just all wrong.

Awwww babe, I've suffered a frozen shoulder and couldn't have possibly even considered a BA whilst I went through that pain!
Sort yourself out first babe, get yourself right, being painfree must be your priority hunni. You'll enjoy your new boobs much more when you're shoulders all better.
Good luck sweetness. xx
