Are surgeons size predictions accurate
I've just read some comments about cup sizes post op. And my question to you lasses out there, who have had you surgeries, is this:
How many of you got the sizes you were told you would get?
This topic doesn't really concern if you are happy with the differences, if the surgeon was inaccurate, though feel free to mention if you are or not. But seriously. If the surgeon told you 'this will give you a D cup', is this what happened? Did you end up bigger? Did you end up smaller? How many accurate predictions have occurred between surgeon and patient concerning cup size.

I don't think surgeons work in cupsizes. I asked for a d and have probably got an e but I'm happy with them so far. I will probably go and get fitted Monday so will find out more accurately then. I think augmented boobs measure bigger but don't necessarily look bigger x

Mmm yeah they don't go by cup sizes but they do try thier best to achieve the cup size you want but probably fail! I asked for a C...I am an E. They do look like a C though, except when I wear push up bras, then they look big! But I am very happy. If I was a C I would be sad.

Yeh, I got bigger than I asked for too - I had suggested around about a D to DD - I'm an F now, but completely delighted. My surgeon did say that it was impossible to guarantee my resulting size and that all I could do was choose the implant size and take his advice on what would suit my frame, and what my existing breast tissue would cover. I agree tho, they don't look it - to me they look like a DD.

Most surgeons will never guarentee a cup size. But if you show them pictures in your consultations they would be able to get a better idea of what you want. I asked for a D then DD and then chose slightly bigger implant and was told I may end up an E. I in fact I ended up a FF but they don't look that big. I look like how I wanted to look, the pics I showed my surgeon were what I ended up with

Re: Are surgeons size predictions accurate
I didn't discuss cup size in detail with my surgeon but did ask for around a D. He doesn't work in cup sizes but rather on the look asked for. I wanted my empty boobs filled up and slightly bigger than I had pre baby and got that. Am now wearing an e cup, However cup size varies depending on band size, ie a 30e is smaller than a 34e, etc etc. Hence why surgeons don't work in cup sizes.

Re: Are surgeons size predictions accurate
Surgeons do not really like to use cup sizes as a general rule because one persons 'C' is another person's 'B' is another person's 'D', same with bra manufacturers, they vary considerably. It is all too subject to perception, and this is why they work with volume. As most girls do work in cup sizes, most surgeons will give you an estimate size. I asked for a c cup and got a D but they suit my frame and although i would like to downsize a tad, they look like a large c.

Re: Are surgeons size predictions accurate
It seems like what ever you ask for you get bigger.
I'm a lil confused tho when you say 'but they don't look that big'. Maybe it's coz fakes are more compact-like.
Elizabethvb20 seems to have it right when she says that they do their best but will probably fail. I think when I next see my surgeon I'll do what misf1 says and take a pic of some nice boobs along. I know most of you who got bigger are happier that they are, but my fear is going too big and looking like one of them porn stars!
I guess it also depends on the time period as well. They're bigger at first aren't they? When you've just had them done and you're swollen. But after they fluff I guess they'll look a lot less bulbous and the scar tissue will reduce.
