Where to get measured?...
I let my curiosity get the better of me recently and went to get measured, but to be honest I wasn't too impressed with the girl who done it. She told me to take off my top but leave the sports bra on - then she measured around my rib-cage to tell me what I already knew - 36.. Then she asked what sort of bra I was looking for, and when I told her I just wanted to know what size I was as i couldn't buy an underwired bra yet, she asked what cup size my sports bra was and I said DD - then she said yeh, that's fine - you're a 36DD... and walked out! I don't know if she was maybe miffed that I didn't want to buy one of their bras or what! Is this the normal measuring method? because I'd have thought a sports bra wouldn't really give a good indication because of it's shape?
Can anyone reccomend a better place to go for measuring?

Re: Where to get measured?...
No-one actually 'measures' you for bras now hun.
If you go to Bravissimo or any other specialist lingerie shop, you will be 'fitted' for your bra. They generally do this by asking the size bra you're currently wearing, then they feel around the band and straps if it's too tight/loose then gauge what size they think you should be wearing, they'll try different sized bras on you until they find one that fits perfectly. xx

Re: Where to get measured?...
I'm going to go down the route of alsong as it fits and is comfy I don't care what the size is, before my BA I had bras that were 32b 32c 32d 34a 34b 34c that just shows the difference in sizes from place to place. According to the old way of measuring I should have worn a 32c but I always found the 32 band uncomfortable and I can't see that changing now I have bigger knockers and everytime I have been measured before they have said that I am a 32 fetched the 32 bras seen how they dig in and leave marks and fetched me a 34 so I don't get it maybe I'm just wierd lol xx

Re: Where to get measured?...
i agree bravissimo is the best place, lasenza measured me totally wrong,
bravissimo have to put bras on you to ensure they are the right size and type so you will have to wait until your aloud proper bras,

Re: Where to get measured?...
I was fitted (not measured) for a bra in bravissimo they did exactly as cookie said and even explained to me where I was going wrong and as I was very early post op they fitted me in a non wired bra and would not let me try on underwire (bless them). They went out of the fitting room while I changed bras and I let the woman back in when I was in the bra, I tried on a few sizes before we got the perfect fit.

Re: Where to get measured?...
I will be looking to get fitted after, Bravissimo sounds good. I tried using the charts online to see what size sports bra i should get, one told me i was a 40 c and another told me i was a 38 A, considering i was a B before my op i cannot say i think either of these are correct, and i had loads of room in the 38 i tried on yesterday. Have settled for a 36DD and a 36E for straight after. I will get an extender if i need to. xx
