Knickers during surgery?
Hi Girls,
This may be a silly question... Do you wear knickers during surgery? If so, do they have to be a special material?
I've never had an operation before so I have no idea.

Re: Knickers during surgery?
I had to wear the sexy knickers they provide at the hospital, they are one size though so if you are a skinny minny they are right belly warmers lol x

Re: Knickers during surgery?
i wore the hospital pants, yep, one size for all! i am a size 6, and they looked like a big nappy on me. i came up with a brain wave, and turned them into bikini briefs by twisting the front and sides of them and tucking bits in. it made the nurses chuckle.
i think they like you to wear the hospital disposable knickers, because it needs to be a sterile environment in the theatre.

Re: Knickers during surgery?
I had those beautiful paper ones, sooo sexy. I think their intention is to make you look as ridiculous as they can, lol!
I walked down to surgery with no make up on, hair tied back, big gown, paper knickers, lines drawn all over my boobs and stretchy tights with my ugg boots on! Never felt so attractive! he he. My OH proposed to me the night before my op, he didnt withdraw it after seeing me like this so it must be love! x

Re: Knickers during surgery?
Lol mellie, styling ur surgery knickers!! I'm panicing about ppl seein me without makeup...my naked skin hasn't seen sunlight since I was 10! X
Re: Knickers during surgery?
lol, believe me. i'm exactly the same!! i never even go out the house without my slap on! i'm not me without my make-up on. i know exactly how you feel. i wasn't worried about the pain i might go through, or the general anaesthetic. i just couldn't bear the thought of wearing no make-up. lol.
on the day i just had to do what was needed. scooped my hair back into a bun, put on the grundy knickers, stockings and gown, and got on with it. i would have done ANYTHING if it meant me getting my new boobs.
honestly honey, do not worry at all. the nurses have seen everything. they couldn't care less what people look like without their make-up on. i think people like us just get so used to seeing ourselves with make-up on 24/7, it feels strange to be bare-faced. i'm sure you will look beautiful anyway hun. my mate thought your avatar was stunning.

Re: Knickers during surgery?
I was allowed to wear my own knickers as they were pure cotton. We all look a sight on way to surgery hun, hospital gown, no make up, hair scraped back, etc but it's a small price to pay for boobies hun.

Re: Knickers during surgery?
Weirdly enough pants were never even mentioned to me - I had little white cotton ones on and nobody told me to change them... also was never given socks to wear either! I thought it was odd, but wasn't about to ask about them :)
