How long did you wait for op?
Just out of curiosity really, after you had your consultation, when was the earliest you could have had your op?

Re: How long did you wait for op?
I waited about three weeks I think. there was no space to have it any earlier.

Re: How long did you wait for op?
I'm not quite sure what the absolute earliest was that I could have had my op... But I first saw my patient coordinator on 20th Dec then met my surgeon for the first time on 8th Jan and booked my surgery for 17th Feb. I may have been able to get an earlier date but I had specifically booked out the 17th Feb from my diary. So from first meeting my PC and to getting my new boobies it was under 2 months... Although I had been researching for over a year!

Re: How long did you wait for op?
Roxy - If you could have had it earlier would you have?
I know that my friend was offered her op a few weeks after her consultation but decided to wait a few weeks more as it would have spoilt her Xmas and New Year.
I'm not sure what decision I would prefer. Have it within a few weeks or wait a few months? A few weeks wouldn't give me time to panic then but would feel rushed as I would have to arrange so much ie. Finances, buying bras sorting out cover for work etc
Hmmmm

Re: How long did you wait for op?
I think it was about 4 weeks between seing the patient coordinator and having the op. It usually is longer as they advise you to think it over for two weeks, then see the surgeon, then book. But I didn't need 2 weeks thinking time: I had thought about it for over 15 years!!!! So I asked to see a surgeon straight away, and as soon as I decided on the surgeon, I booked for the earliest available date!
But like Angelpie I had been researching it for a while - not a whole year but a few months... so by then I just wanted it done!

Re: How long did you wait for op?
I was like that moonmar, have wanted boobies for about 5 years. I remember turning 20 and thinking "I must be a late developer (even though I had 'triangular' boobs) and always told myself they would get bigger, they had to, all my friends had nice boobies so why didn't i??
But as the years went on and on and on they got a tiny incy wincy bit bigger with weight gain but then went back down with my weight loss.
So a BA is something that I 100% want am going straight to see the surgeon next week so hopefully he can give me an approximate time for the op

Re: How long did you wait for op?
Hello Jemmy!
Sooooo much to consider and decide!!! Personally I made the decision to have mine done within a ten day span, would have been shorter if surgeon and flights etc. could have been tied in. It allowed me no worry time (my choice) and organising everything kept me busy!!! My p.s. was quite taken aback I think, though we had met and discussed everything more than once - but it gave me six weeks approx. before xmas to heal. Plus I had many many (cant count that much) years feeling inadeqate previous. I had done research and knew it was now or never.
It was right for me. I hope all goes as well for you as it has for me x

Re: How long did you wait for op?
Aww thanks Mia.
I'm trying to tie in the op before June as I'm going on holiday on 5th December which gives me 6 months to heal nicely as i've read that 6 months is an adequate time for everything to settle down.
So fingers crossed Mr Cooper will be able to fit me in before then.

Jemmy ... yeh fingers crossed. I am sure you will be fitted in before June. You are being very sensible thinking and talking everything through before you make final decisions.
When I read through the posts I am very encouraged and feel rather proud of all you 'Young ladies' making very informed choices.
Keep up the good work.. nice to be of any help I can

Re: How long did you wait for op?
I had my first consult with my ps 5th September 08 booked it for December 19th 08 felt like a long wait but it soon came around! I booked it deliberately for then as i was breaking up for xmas so had some free time for recovery x
Re: How long did you wait for op?
Ethically they should give you at least 2 weeks between your consult and booking to give you time to consider all the detail so it doesn't seem a forced decision...almost like a cooling off period. A lot of companies don't adhere to this though.
I think its admirable that some companies/surgeons insist you take 2 weeks to think about it even if you're sure you want it tomorrow.

Re: How long did you wait for op?
I had consultation on 3rd March & surgery booked for 21st April.
Could have probably got it earlier but had to sort out my annual leave, husband's annual leave, flights, hotel, my break from university, easter holidays, when the surgeon I chose was available & somebody to look after my dog!
Was a flippin nightmare !!

Re: How long did you wait for op?
I had my consultation on 9th April, 2008 and the first available date was 7th May, so I took that.. That month in between my first consultation and my surgery date just flew by though

Re: How long did you wait for op?
It was 4 weeks to the day after my consult that I booked. Like a lot of ladies, I felt inadequate for years, so when I actually decided to definitely go ahead, I just wanted to get it done. So glad I did.
