I'm booked in for my BA !st Oct (YIPPEEEEE) what i was wondering is I do a lot of upper body work weights 5 times a week need to for my job .... im having unders as i have no breast tissue does this mean i can't do upper body training, as i keep hearing how it can distort the implant ???? xx

Did you discuss this with your surgeon hun?
You will not be able to work your upper body with weights for a 6 week period post-op. This is part of your recovery to enable you to get the best from your surgery babe.
The distortion after having unders from what I know about it can 'sometimes' be a problem, especially to those who weight train and very athletic people for this reason surgeons sometimes feel it's best to opt for overs - Again this is something you should further discuss with your surgeon before proceeding with the surgery to ensure you're getting the best placement for you.
It would be best if you could arrange a second consultation hunni to further discuss your lifestyle with your surgeon. xxx

Hi hun, stick to the 6 week rule it's not worth risking your new fabulous boobies (not to mention wasting all that money) for the sake of going back sooner.
I had unders and also train quite abit and I've just started back doing lower body stuff. I'm 6 weeks today so I'll easy myself in gently. When I have tried anything I have felt a little distortion but when I look down there is nothing visible, other people certainly wouldn't notice it. x

Thanks for posting this millie, I knew about the fitness thing but never realised distortion can be related to weight training. i'm definitely gonna ask my surgeon about this as i do body pump about 3 times a week don't want to ruin my new boobies when I get them x

Hi guys thanks for the replies..... After doing loads of ressearch i definitely wanted overs but the three surgeouns i saw all said i didnt have enough tissue to do it that way...... Wont risk doing any upper body work for a min of six weeks and gently build it up. I'm just worrying that they will end up in my arm pits as some of the stories i've read say this could happen .... will press ups and sit ups be okay 6 weeks post op ....... Does anybody know of a training plan post surgery as my PT says i need to find exactly what i can do aand how much weight i can lift ??? xxxx

Hi tinks,
I would talk it thru with your surgeon for sure. I have unders and I weight train 2-3 times a week and do boxing on pads once a week and have never had any problems/distortion with having unders with any of my training.Just had my repo and went for unders again and have been told about 6 weeks for upper body xx
