I know 550 is fairly huge, but I'm pretty tall and broad so surgeon agrees that it will suit my frame, hopefully I'll be better proportioned.

I can't wait either..........just apprehensive regarding the recovery!  I'm having mine with MyBreast.  What about you?

I would like to have 550cc but my surgeon is struggling to maybe put in 310cc because of my frame, I am sure all different cc's are suitable for different people and there frames.
I cant believe its happening, i have wanted this since i was 18 im now 34. So it feels like a dream.
I know what you mean about the recovery i am exactly the same, im going under the muscle so i have heard its worse than over...but as they say if theres no pain, no gain.
I'm having mine done at the new birkdale clinic xxx

How tall are you and what dress size?

I'm 5'10" and size 14 (on a good day!), so I need plenty of boob!

I'm worried with recovery that I'll not be able to shave my pits or wash my hair (of all things!) and I'll have to go back to have my dressings changed and I'll be minging!

I've gone for right before Xmas as hubby was taking the Xmas - New Year week off anyway, so him taking an extra week before Xmas gives me 2 weeks with him at home to get me better.  Only problem with that is that I'll have my daughers at home too as they break up on the 20th, so I'll be out of hospital and straight into no peace!  And I'm in a panic mode in case I forget to get something ready for Xmas like end up forgetting to buy for somebody.  And I usually do the food shop late night on the 23rd............ain't doing that this year, obviously, so am worrying that hubby will not want to go out to get the food shop as he can't stand shopping, or people shopping at the same time as him!  Might have to do my first ever online food shop.   xx

I'm already getting the nerves, so can't imagine what you're feeling atm, but guess this time next week I will! I got really weepy last night, worrying that I might not wake up from it (daft, I know!). I've had generals in the past, and always been fine, so I know I'm being ridiculous.

You're lucky your admission is fairy early, mine isn't until 12 pm. My stomach will think my throat's been cut, going without food THAT long!!

Yes, I'm having unders (partial unders).

Have got my pre-op this morning, so a little nervous about that too.

Let me know how you get on when you're up to it.

Hello Hun
So it's day 2 post op and I'm feeling ok i guess. The lying on the bed as I was going under was the scariest and most nerve wrecking time of my life I felt like I wanted to run away but I'm glad I didn't the staff were lovely and took good care of me.
I won't lie the pain is more difficult but if you keep on top of your meds and power through it you'll be fine.
It's the 3rd day and I'm feeling ok just painful and the muscle spasms remind me of Braxton hicks but on your bust area.
I just can't wait to get the sports bra off once they be all fluffed into position I've already been looking at bras. You'll be fine Hun xxxxx

Hi,

So glad you're ok.

Are you in pain anywhere other than your boobies?  What about bloating after the GA?  What pain meds did they send you off with and for how long have you got to take them before moving onto just paracetamol/ibuprofen?

Sorry for all the questions, fingers crossed for a quick recovery for you.

Hi Mel to be honest before my op I had so many questions. Who's your op with? What date? It's funny you mentioned bloating because I googled that because last night day 3 I looked pregnant. If you feel sick afterwards and offer you the anti sickness drug my advice is don't take it.. made me have palpitations and I felt dizzy it was awful.
At the moment I'm taking anti biotics. Codene as and when I need it (usually I take this at night to help me sleep) and I've been alternating ibu with para. The pain does get better the only time it's unbearable is after a night of sleep and you've got to wake up and get out of bed. I find going for a walk helps take your mind off things I can't wait to get measured soon Hun xxxx

Thanks for replying, and for the advice about anti sickness drugs, very helpful. I think waking up in the mornings is going to be harsh for me as I already suffer with stiffness in my back upon waking, sleeping upright can only make things worse!

Anyway, after the initial first few days, I imagine things can only improve. Are you taking arnica at all? Been out and bought some today...... don't know if it really does anything, but maybe if I think it will, then it will!

Did you stay in overnight?

Yeah it's not good waking Up in pain tonight I've really suffered from back pain which I've not had before I googled it and does go away with time which is good and is normal. I had my first peek of them today there lovely it's funny because you look at them and wished they were a tiny bit bigger but I don't think my body would take it so I'll be happy with these I had nothing before. What's arnica? Xx

I hope you don't get too much pain.

You mean to tell me that you've managed to hold off taking a peek until today???!!!!  I've always thought that'd be the first thing I'd do, but maybe in reality you're really not that bothered at the time!

What size did the surgeon manage to fit in after all?

Arnica is a homeopathic remedy which is meant to be helpful in reducing bruising.

I've had little peeks but this is the first time I popped open the front of the sports bra and have a good look can't wait till I can take it off in 6 weeks and finally let my boobs breath the sports bra is tight. He put 310cc in which is great I was sooo happy with that. I can't wait until they start there fluff so that they can settle into place I'm very happy with them so far. I've got no bruising but no harm in using arnica it looks good bet you can't wait until surgery day eek xxx

I'm getting more chilled about it now.  I had my wobble on Sunday when I convinced myself I might not wake up from surgery, over that now and just going with the flow!

Just getting last minute hospital bits ready, then I'm done and will be impatiently waiting to fill my boobs!

Awww guess what I had exactly the same feeling that I wouldn't wake up either or something bad will happen it's all normal feelings as it's still surgery isn't it. But you'll be fine you'll have a great surgeon who will know what they are doing. It's good your all organised I'll think of you on the 19th.  How old are you by the way?
I broke down before as got my sports bra off I put my old bras against them and none came close to the size I have I even had a 34b I've never worn so looks like I'm a C or  D whoop whoop xxxx

It must be the best feeling ever to realise that your bras just aren't going to cut it when it comes to looking after your new babies! Really looking forward to that bit!

I'm 42. Bit older than most when they have their first BA, but surgeon says the advantage of that is that I'll need fewer re-ops, so win-win situation!!
