How did you feel after 5/6 weeks
Hello! I think I've made the decision to have the op but when I look at when there is always something in the near future that makes me feel I need to put it back. So I am going to try and go for early June if I can be fitted in that soon (figure it'll also give me less time to chicken out!) but I have a holiday booked 6 weeks later.
So how did you feel at that point? Is a holiday doable at 6 weeks? And will they have settled a bit by then or will I still look odd in a bikini? Is original thought October but I really want to run the London marathon next year so want to make sure everything is really healed before I ramp up the training. If I leave it until after the marathon I'll never do it!
Also does anyone know is under the muscle recovery worse than overs? Thanks!

Hello! Yes generally speaking under the muscle is a bit more painful and longer.
I think a holiday is certainly do-able but it all depends on your recovery - everyone is different! I wouldn't have felt entirely comfortable showing them off in a bikini at 6 weeks as one of mine has taken a while to drop so was noticeably higher. I also wasn't pain free until around 8 weeks. It was mild pain but a kind of sunburn feeling on the skin where it had stretched and the nerves were fixing. No way would I have wanted to put them in the sun!
Also u are much more prone to sunburn and u def can't expose the scars to the sun. At 6 weeks you are only just cleared for swimming too generally.
I would say a holiday is doable so long as you don't have any complications but be prepared to cover up a bit as the skin will be a lot more sensitive to the sun! Xx

I agree, overs is an easier ride re healing but again we are all different.
I went on a short holiday to Spain at 5/6 weeks and was fine although I didn't go in pool and kept my boobs covered (wore vest top) as skin was still sensitive. I was given the all clear to go in pool but not swim, I chose not to just incase of infection as a very small area on right scar didn't look 100% ready. X

Yeh i would just say cover up and dont swim. Think of all the germs in the pool, dont want an6 nasties getting in them wounds. They will be dry and well heaked by then but if there is any miniscule hopes and anything gets in,, its jst not worth it.
So just dip your toes in the pool !!
Lol
Take care and good luck x
