Not registered with BAAPS - is this a worry?
I've been on the BAAPS website & have a list of surgeons in my area (East Midlands) from there and am slowly working my way through the list to find out prices & consultation charges etc.
Some surgeons that I have found though, are not registered with BAAPS, but are registered with BAPRAS.
Would it bother you if they were not reg with both? I don't know how important this is?!
E.g. some of the Transform surgeons I have looked at online do seem to be BAPRAS reg, but not BAAPS.
Thanks!
p.s sorry for the million questions/posts that I am doing today!

It's only a problem if you feel like it's going to be a problem for you. My surgeon wasnt registered for either. It's all down to personal preference, and what you want out of your surgeon

Maybe have a look on the baaps website to help you decide. I think they describe their members/criteria for membership and that might help you decide? [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Re: Not registered with BAAPS - is this a worry?
Not necessarily....however, it can be BIG worry if you don't check the surgeons qualifications.
What many women don't know in the UK is that there's very little regulation around this surgery, so you could end up with a doctor who has no surgery skills, let alone plastic surgery skills taking a scapel to your body and changing your shape for always.
With BAAPS surgeons it's an assurance that you're getting a surgeon who 'specialises' in Breast Augmentation and who have many years exoerience doing this and are fully qualified.
So if you're steering away from BAAPS, don't just trust what you read on websites. We have surgeons qualifications a little embellished to make themselves look a little desirable to women looking for a surgeon in this field. So do always check.
Check the GMC register. Firstly you need to ensure that a) they're actually on the register and b) theyre on the specialist register for plastic surgery. This is the minimum you're going to be wanting from a surgeon and I know it sounds like a lot of hard work but your body is worth it dangleberry. So do take that time to check out any surgeons you're planning on seeing.
If they say they're a member of BAPRAS OR BAAPS do go to their websites and again check that what they're saying is right.
