Exercise Empty Exercise

Post by jolenecsteele 13th April 2014, 10:14 am

Hi all.
I'm about 5 weeks post op. I used to exercise daily and am going quite insane without it.
I used to do all sorts (pull ups, press ups,  running, swimming , kettlebells and very heavy weight lifting) and I know that stuff will have to wait a while (surgeon said another 2-3 months for the heavy lifting).
What kind of exercise have you lovely ladies done after your op? How soon after did you start? What are the dangers of doing too much too soon? Has anybody done any heavy lifting after op? What about swimming? Or running?
Any info appreciated.

My surgeon said I should be fine running at 6 weeks but on a treadmill rather than outdoors. Think I'm going to start with spinning though but minus any arm work. I'm planning on going to the gym sooner though but just to walk on the treadmill to keep in a routine. Xx

remember cardio gets the blood flowing there for it can cause a bleed if you go to soon

alos aftercare can be voided if you need a reop and you never followed YOUR surgeons advice

its only a short time to not exercise but you have they boobs for a long time to come, look after tem and yourself girls

Im sure it was Mrs Ball who couldnt run for near 3 month xx

Hey,

My surgeon said four weeks for upper body but could do lower bodyie spinning after 2 weeks if I felt up to it. I didn't so left it 6 weeks then just eased myself back in to it with spin, combat etc. Went swimming after 8 weeks as was going stir crazy just doing lower body ohhh got back to personal training but my trainer said if it hurt to tell her and would do something different.

But as said above follow your own surgeons advice otherwise might void aftercare.

Great to hear you managed spinning. Think that's a good one to go for if you're just doing lower body. Il. Give that a go.
