Time off work? Empty Time off work?

Post by Boney1992 18th February 2014, 10:50 pm

Girls, how much time off work have you all took? My job doesn't involve lifting or anything intense! I'm having uplift and BA together, how long would you recommend? I've booked three weeks off but I think that's too long now and I start going crazy when I'm off work for too long!

Thank you xx

Post by tigertonix 18th February 2014, 10:56 pm

Babe i personally don't think 3 weeks is too long. I took 4 weeks off because it was over christmas anyway and i'm so glad i had that long break. I couldnt leave the house for 2 weeks because i was in so much discomfort. I couldn't even stand up straight or sit up straight for 2 weeks. It was only after the 2 week mark that i began adjusting and becoming more mobile. Of course everyone is different and is affected differently from their ops but I do think you should take full advantage of your 3 weeks and then you will have complete peace of mind! There'd be nothing worse than having to go back before you're ready..

Good luck, honey xxxxx

I know it's going to be so exciting going shopping for the first time in ages i'll be able to not worry about buying tops and underwear... before it was always, but its too low... or if I bend down... but now its like... it can be as low as my belly button, it's still going to look amazing :D hahaha xx

hahaha Tigertonix.. I love that ^^ oops did I drop my pen.. again!... sigh... and again!... and again! :P
Yes yes.. I would probably never have the balls to do that but the idea makes me evil laugh haha...
its the fact that you don't have to be embarrassed when bending down ever again, or wonder if you look ok in this... of course you do.. they are gorgeous new boobies :)
I did be naughty and buy a very low cut top the day before my BA... it has a slit right the way down the middle... and hell yes I might only wear it in the house but dam it will look good :P
no more granny high neck tops for me :D xxx

Hahaha i'm howling!!!
You're so right! Like on american films when girls pull dollars out of their bras.. I might try that one out ;)
Haha me too, i probably wouldn't have the guts to bend down in front of anyone but i wouldn't mind imagining doing it! Let's just say that I want to start swimming. I haven't been swimming in an inside pool for 8 years.. So this should be exciting haha!
Oooh, you'll have to try that top on and send a pic!! Haha xxxxx

I took 2 weeks off but I only had a straightforward BA and overs so less invasive procedure than a BA and uplift. You should be fine after 3 weeks, but you could always book more if you want to and go back early if you get bored.

I took 1week off, but then 2wks working from home. If I could have taken them off, I would have, it was so hard to concentrate on anything. Then the cabin fever sets in...went a little crazy! If you can afford 3wks away from work, go for it.

Yeah I'm gonna take it off babe....For some reason I just thought 3 weeks was quite long, after reading everyone's replies and looking at it thoroughly, it's not actually that long for a BA is it!! Xxx

I looked at it as surgery on the scale of things any surgery is pretty big but the fact that you cant do much for 6 weeks after a BA 3 weeks isnt long at all

you might feel great and not need it at all but atleast if you are off and in the house then you know that you wont be over doing it xx

Hi everyone, im getting really worried & confused now about recovery time. My surgeon told me I would need 2 wks max off work, -im a mobile hair/beauty therapist. He even told me i'd be back horseriding after a month. I understand having overs is less disruption to the body but panicking a little now as o/h works away so will be on my own from 3days po xx

Are you self employed? If so, and you're not feeling up to going back to work after two weeks could you not take longer? I guess everyone else's recovering time is different to each others! So two weeks may be fine for you. Xx

horse riding after a month, wow really, my sister in law has 3 horses and she is pregnant so of riding at the minute

I would think that horse riding would put alot of pressure on your chest

id def rethink the horse riding after 4 weeks, however if your surgeon has said its ok, and not the PCC then get it in writing so that IF anything did go wrong your aftercare isnt voided

I know having needing a reop and looking at another reop that aftercare is VERY important

just pop in and see the surgeon when you can xx
