Heavy lifting?!
I'm starting work again on Thursday, just for this week, then back following tue (only work, tue, Wed & Thursday).
Anyway I drop the boys off at grandparents and need to get them into their car seats. Will I be ok to lift them up? Don't want too if I really shouldn't be?! Just not sure how I'll get them in xx

Re: Heavy lifting?!
Hhmmm. My youngest is 2.9 months (a little older than yours????)
I have been asking him on and off recently in prep to climb in and out on his own, which he can do....with a little faffing about first....bribe works well. .....like hurry and get up and you can have this book/toy/biscuit. Would they give it a try? Would save you lifting, then reaching in with their weight on you!
xx

Re: Heavy lifting?!
Instead of lifting them Hun at their age maybe help them up instead by them climbing on your knee or giving them a step stool like the ones used for big toilet training!
Which is portable and just pop in and out of the boot or in the footwell x

Re: Heavy lifting?!
Good thinking from mrsball there
There's no way you'll be able to lift children of that age so early in your recovery hun. Without doubt you'll hurt yourself sweetheart.
Making them feel like 'big boys' is always a fun thing for kids, they feel really important bless them lol... So in getting the stepping stool as mrsball suggested it can be a little adventure for them too. I bet they'll love it
I dunno if its Christmas or just reading about all the kids on here lately, but I never thought I'd hear myself say this again but....I'm not half broody. Best tell tell hubs though, he always wanted a big family and if he even got a sniff of my post here he'd get himself all excited about it and I'd have to spend my life on onesies which he calls my 'anti-rape' suits haha. Xx

Re: Heavy lifting?!
anti-rape suits!
I have always said if they made a nice one with a"bum flap" that would be FAB, quick easy flap for toilet......and nookie. Hehehehe.
LOVE the stepstool idea, I am gonna put one In the car ready ...even though William can get up, it is a height so step stool will make it easier for him=thanks hun.

Re: Heavy lifting?!
My 7 year old has lots of questions already, not sure I want to be entirely honest as I don't want all the mums at school hearing.... My 2 year old will be easier in a way to explain to. Just said to my eldest Jacob, that its an Op on my chest area. Under arm is a good idea Tink... How old are your children now?

If you can get a wheat bag, you know they ones you heat in the microwave they are so so good to place at the bottom of your back, plus remember you dont need to sit up just o your back, head above the shoulders xx

Re: Heavy lifting?!
No ...mine is often achey after a nights sleep. We changed the matress which did help. Not everyday but just randomly probably once or twice a week I wake and my middle back aches and deep breaths ache round the kidney area...gradually as I am up and about it improves.
That's a good idea with wheat bags. Thank you xx

Re: Heavy lifting?!
Oooh LOVE lavender.
I will have a look. I have a cold/hot pack too, which I intend for use (cold)on boobies for swelling... could come in handy if back ache is bad to use as heat pack. Thanks for all your tips.
Hope your day has been ok with the boys Jenpops...
