Five days post, weird bruising Empty Five days post, weird bruising

Morning Ladies,

I wonder if anyone can explain this to me or help me out with some ideas? shrug

Last night my Hubby noticed that my hips were coming out in bruises. This morning they are getting darker.

I know that bruising can take a while to come out, especially having read a few threads on here about it, but it's a bit strange to have it on my hips. I've got next to nothing on my boobs and a little bit down my ribs.

I wonder if they do anything in theatre that could cause this?

It's right down low on both sides, around the sides on my hip bone and along my very attractive 'post baby' love handles!!

I have been taking Arnica so maybe it would have been worse without it???

Thanks in advance.x

I'm not sure why you would have bruises on your hips?!
Obviously there is no proof arnica actually works so your never know I guess if it would have been worse without... I took it and didn't have any bruising...

That's strange though! I've never heard of that.... Wonder if any other ladies here had the same! Hope it starts to clear for you soon Xx

Its normal CAB. Don't ask me how but I was bruised from my boob all down my side after surgery. Its just something that happens to some of us. I wouldn't worry about it though babe.

Whether it would be worse if you hadn't taken arnica... Well, I don't personally believe in its healing properties myself. There's no medical evidence to support it and I've had surgery using it and without it - no difference at all lol.

Hope it eases up for you soon babe, xx

Often when you have a GA you do feel like you have been in a fight because they manhandle you about.  However I am surprised at your area of bruising, I can't think why your hips would be bruised tbh.  Are you sure nothing happened before your op that might explain it?

I hope your recovery is going well xx

Thanks,

I took Arnica purely as the clinic suggested it; part of their guidance so best to follow it. Although Cookie I agree I'm not usually one to believe in the healing properties of these herbal things, but it was worth a shot.

Thanks for putting my mind at rest though. I was a little concerned about the bruising being so low down!! I can't imagine how rough they must be in such a short space of time. I've seen clips of breast surgery on TV, but never seen an entire operation. Would be interesting to know what they actually do from beginning to end!

LJR, no nothing happened before my op, and it's on both sides as well!

I'm not in too much pain with it. I'll get the nurse to have a look tomorrow at my first post op check up!x

Good luck at the check up CAB.
Don't know why you're bruised there, seems strange. I suppose they do pull you about a bit though. I remember when I had my wisdom teeth out. I was black and blue down my sides and tummy, really odd. God knows what they do when you're knocked out......xx

Definitely agree its worth a shot if you think it might help lovely yes  and especially if you've been advised to take it as part of your post-op care. Xx

I had bruising all done my side and all round my ribs right round onto my back, only on the right side, left was absolutely fine!! Think it was all settled by around 2 weeks, hopefully it will clear up soon. Xx
