Picking up my baby? Empty Picking up my baby?

Post by Susan13x 4th September 2013, 3:43 pm

Ive been staying with my mum n dad since having my BA coz there is no way I could look after my kids on my own they are only 3 and almost 18mths.
I was hoping to go back home after 2wks but dunno if that will be enough time? How long will it be before I can pick up my youngest etc without damaging myself? Coz she still needs picked up a lot n I know there is no way I could manage to do it yet xx

hiya I was told nothing over 5lbs for 6 weeks, and tbh I tried to stick to that, my oldest is 8 and youngest 2 and as she has CP she still needs alot of help with everyday tasks that normal 2 year olds can do, even changing her bum a month on I found hard work, but we are all diff

If your unsure call and ask the nurse/surgeon xx

Im only 5 days post op and my kids are 3 & 4 but I cant imagine lifting them anytime soon, as much as I would love to! If you've got the support of your mum and dad your very lucky and I would make the most of that while you can!

I'd check with your surgeon, but you will be able to feel if you are doing too much with your upper body.

I am 5 weeks post op, have recovered really well and have started working out again, but I still don't feel I can lift yet x
