Panic!!! Empty Panic!!!

Post by doracina 2nd May 2013, 9:12 pm

Ok Iam 9 days PO. Today has been the first day I have felt great, more active and generally more like myself. But I've came to bed and while getting changed I've noticed a bit of leakage on leftys dressing. Looks more liquid with tiny amount of colour. I was told to shower as normal day 10 should I still do this? Is this normal on day 9? Iam panicking now there is something wrong, my dressings have been completely clean up to now does it mean my wound hasn't held? Aagghhhh

if you're worried call your clinic they should have given you a 24hour helpline number however as long as the bandage isn't sodden in blood it's usually nothing serious xx

I had the same thing last week, I went straight to my nurse! I had split my incision but was scared I had got an infection! Even if it is only small, go and get it checked out. X

He has no right to lecture you about getting a BA, if anything as a doctor he should offer your support and guidance. Hope it all goes well I'm sure it will xxx

Ok I've been, lefty has an infection and he said he looks like righty is just starting with one . So I have dressings to change daily and anti biotics. Poor nurse had me sitting in her room bawling my eyes out. She said it was only superficial and she thinks it will clear up fine. And after all my worrying both of them were really really nice! Thanks ladies for being there to listen to me! Xx

I bet that was really scary, and that'll be me when I have mine done, I'll be a nervous wreck. Glad to hear it should clear up fine, is it quite common to get an infection? Xx

Its just the tiniest amount of dirt getting in at some point while the wound is open that causes infection hun xx
