massage of textured implants
Hi, I know there has been some posts about this regarding different info given by surgeons/nurses etc so I asked my surgeon for clarification.
He advised that massaging textured implants is fine and suggested this be done at 4 weeks, so long as you have been shown how to do it correctly and that you have been instructed to do so by surgeon. He said by 4 weeks the implants will have adhered and massage will help release any air, help them form a more natural shape and to soften them. Scar massage is also advised at 4 weeks as long as all of the scabs have gone, they are dry and there is no open wounds or weeping. He said massage may help reduce CC.
Obviously you should follow what your surgeon says but wanted to update you on the advice I was given.
I am seeing him in 2 weeks for a follow up and at 3 months for pics etc x

Re: massage of textured implants
I wish I was given this advice....or for that matter ANY advice from mine. My boobs might be doing better now if I was told that! How do you massage yours? xx

Re: massage of textured implants
Its NEVER adviseable to massage textured implants unless as your surgeon quite rightly said Jo, it has been advised by your surgeon. Some women take a lot longer to heal than others so although 4 weeks might be fine for one lady... For another it may not be adviseable at all. Xx

I was also advised on instruction from my surgeon too to massage at 6 weeks to encourage a stubborn boob to drop. But I was closely monitored by my surgeon throughout. X
Re: massage of textured implants
So I started to massage my boobs as instructed but I really don't like the way it feels. The movement feels strange not sure if the implants are moving or if its just air and swelling inside. Might ring them to see if i NEED to do this if not then I might leave it for a few weeks before trying again. me no likey

Re: massage of textured implants
My implant book ( Natrelle Inspira) says in it that my implants do not need to be massaged. I think it actually says should not. I don't think I'd like to go against the implant makers instructions without good reason ( like a complication it might help). So maybe question your surgeon a bit more about his reasons?
