The first thing you'd need to do is research surgeons babe. With having a BA and uplift it of the upmost importance that you get a skilled surgeon for such a technical procedure.

The best advice I can give you sweetie is to RESEARCH! It's so important Boobjob1. Take your time to research surgeons in your area, you can request a list of surgeons from any clinics you're interested in and then check their qualifications on the GMC register along with BAAPS/BAPRAS if it's a BAAPS reg surgeon you're specifically interested in.

You can find a link to look for clinics in your area in this thread [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

You may also like to take a read through our Breast Augmentation Information' section of the forum hun, you'll find a consultation notebook in there which you can print off and take to you consultations if you'd like to (if you have any problem printing it off just let me know and i can Email it to you) as well as a whole tone of info to help you get the look for your boobs that you want. Also when you see a surgeon you may wish to speak to him about whether to wait until your milk is completely dried up. You have only recently had a baby so your body will still be settling down due to all the hormones etc. I produced milk for a long time after i stopped breast feeding. I would hate for you to have it all done and then have to have a re op because they hadn't settled after pregnancy.

Definately do your research and do not rush into anything.

I had a boob job for the same reasons that i had lost all my bust from breast feeding and was extremely empty.. although i waited 9 years to have one.I have just had revision surgery due to complications and had a nipple lift as well.

This is one of my top questions as i only stopped feeding him 2months ago so they may turn round and say wait another 4months plus but i wont no until i ask. When your preg you have massive boobs then feed and mine have just lost all on top and just feel like there down to my knees lol.

If you dont mind me asking what where your complications? x

The complications I had started from a lack of research boobjob1. My excitement took over my rational and resulted in me having two further operations to give me boobs that look normal. Given my time over again, I'd have gone for the best surgeon I could find through BAAPS. But that's just my personal story hun. You may prefer a surgeon working from the larger commercial clinics yourself and there are some very good surgeons working there but if you do go there finding a surgeon who is also on the specialist register for reconstruction would also be a bonus. is that all cookie? i could still squeeze milk out a year later!! how interesting.

Boobjob1 - i had a large hematoma (blood pooling) during my first surgery which caused a lot of mishaping and brusing.. there is a 5% chance of hematoma during any surgery... i was just very unlucky.

I then got capsular contracture which made me think i was having a heart attack because it was so painful and my breasts were extremely distorted and mishapen... on top of that the implant used was too wide and was compressing a nerve so it really wasnt very fun for me.

I had corrective surgery last week and they are so much aesthetically better than they were at this stage before.. however being my rather pessamistic self i will not say i am pleased with the results until they have settled.

Theres a wealth of information on this forum that the admins have put together, have a look, i believe education is key. I thought i was educated about boob jobs before but sadly i let my naievity get the better of me.

Just looked up Mark Gittos... Seems like a very good surgeon hun.

He works for Spire so if there's a spire near you (you can use the link I left in my first post to check) then it may be better going through Spire rather than privately because you may get more after care. But do check babe. Xx

I had an uplift and 390cc implants after I lost 5 stone. I went with a female surgeon with Spire who was baaps/bapras registered. I went to see a surgeon at MYA but I wasnt impressed and felt that he wasnt experienced enough with uplifts as having an uplift is much more invasive complicated surgery especially when you have implants at the same time. You really need to do your research and make sure you go with a surgeon that specialises in this kind of surgery. Most surgeons will not do breast surgery until after 6 months postpartum or 6 months after you finish breastfeeding as reverse breast hypertrophy can continue for up to 6 months after pregnancy/breastfeeding so even though you have finished leaking milk the breast can continue to shrink. xx

My appointment with MYA was cancelled today i was on my way and received a call saying been cancelled due to break down of the lady i was meant to be seeing -.- Thank you 5stonedown for your advice and very well done for the weight loss too, how much did it cost for both breast lift and BA if you dont mind me asking and did your surgeon perform these at the same time. thats not too bad 6months i stopped two months ago so i dont mind the wait.

If you're wanti g to choose a surgeon through MYA hun, you could always request that you bypass the patient co-ordinator, all you'll discuss with her anyway is what procedure you want and go through prices, but I personally feel seeing your surgeon 'first' is the best way to go... Its the surgeon you should be discussing your procedure with, the patient co-ordinator has no medical experience or qualifications so anything you tell you is pretty useless really until you see your surgeon, so save you having 2 trips... Cut out the middle man, or woman as the case may be here lol.

Hope you weren't too disappointment today babe Hug xx

Post by 5stonedown 20th January 2013, 10:54 am

I paid £5832 for the BA and uplift and yes I had the 2 done together. I am having revision surgery in March as I developed dog ears at the ends of my scars which is basically some redundant skin which needs removing. Its just one of the risks of having surgery but its a simple procedure and my surgeon agreed to do it straight away with no extra cost to me as it is covered by my aftercare. Looking forward to having this done to perfect my final look!
