Blistering under scars Empty Blistering under scars

Post by Emilycornwall 9th November 2012, 10:49 am

Just showered and noticed than under my scars, where bra sits I have a line if very raised red blistery lumps. They are itchy and am sure on closer inspection would contain water substance if I popped them, not going to try !!

The scars look ok no change, healing and a bit scabby still.
I remember nurse saying something like don't worry until you see any blistering or spots on the boobs as that could be infection??

As its under the boob, is it just an irritation from constant bra wearing do you think or should I be slightly more concerned and think it could be infection.

Boobs are 4 weeks old today is infection possible after this time?

Not sure what to do? What do you think please ladies?
Xx

Whatever you do hun don't pop any blisters. The last thing you want is to risk infection sweetie.

It's sound like you may have had an allergy to the dressings or its been caused by the rubbing from the band of your bra.

Hopefully if left alone the blisters will heal on their own but if they pop you should see your nurse/surgeon hun.

Keep an eye on them and maybe use a sanitary towel or a panty liner sticky side against your bra and the cushion side against the blistered area to avoid any rubbing from the bra band.

It should be OK hun. But if they pop do see your nurse babe.

If you are overly concerned though a quick call to speak with your 'clinic nurse' should put your mind at ease Xx

Thanks cookie, I'm leaving bra and dressings off for a few hours and see if that helps. Hope it's just a reaction of skin and nothing more serious! Will keep you posted x
