Re-op scars Empty Re-op scars

Hi ladies,

I would really like to ask a question to those who have had revisions/ re-ops, whether its due to a complication or simply a change of size.

If they go in via the original scar which i think they usually do; Does the extra trauma make the scar look worse that it originally did when fully healed?? Or does it heal up the same as the first op?

Thanks girls xxx

It's just the same Hattie, the surgeon cuts away all the old scar tissue making a scar from the new skin. xxx

ooh how interesting - thanks for all your replies ladies! I was expecting it to look worse if they went in again via the same incision!

Not just yet but my leftyhas still not dropped like the right has and iits sitting quite a bit under my arm compared to my lovely righty. I will see what my surgeon says but as its nearly 3months gone I have a feeling if I want it sorted I will have to have a revision. It's something I will have to think about whether its worth it or not but I think it probably is.

The thing is, if i did have my lefty fixed - and they have to cut away the scar tissue on that one, won't that then make them look odd - especially as i had areola incision?

Im not sure about areola incisions hun, but im sure it will heal just as well. Have you tried massaging it or compression to soften the scar tissue holding it up? Let us know what your ps says

yes i have been massaging but it doesn't seem to have helped. I have a bit of lumpy breast tissue in my leftie which i have always had - this is sort of in the area where the implant should be dropping into place and I wonder if this is sort of 'in the way' of it dropping. I don't know, we'll see, if i do have to have a re-op it's not the end of the world just another week off work and a bit more daytime telly Re-op scars 727885

Aw thanks hun!

Reops are so much easier to recover from as your skin and muscles have already stretched, i felt fine after 2 days compared to 2 weeks first time x
