Scars and bio oil... Empty Scars and bio oil...

Post by angie8131 3rd May 2013, 9:09 am

Hi ladies, as some of you know I had my 6 week check up yesterday. The PS told me that I could start applying bio oil to the scars. My scars were very neat, barely visible- just a thin line of broken skin and I didn't feel any discomfort or itchiness whatsoever but they were lumpy to the touch, as if the scars were beneath the skin if u like. I applied bio oil last night and I noticed the scars are a bit redder, nothing major but they are and though they're not itchy I know my right scar is there if that makes sense??
Has anyone experienced anything like this on using bio oil?? Should I continue it wait a few days before I try again??
Thanks xx

If your scars look irritated from using the bio oil I would stop using it. If the scars just look red because of increased blood flow to the area from massaging this is fine. You will have internal and external scars so massage will help flatten both.

Instead of bio oil you could try vitamin e oil or coconut oil. To help skin heal I used a few drops of tea tree oil in a bath. The tea tree is antiseptic and has skin healing properties.
