Re: Can I take support bra off??
Your breast really need the stability your sports bra is giving you at the moment hunny. 4 days is so early post op. they need the compression and support.
I personally didn't have a Macom I use shock absorbers back fastening ones which I find really comfy.
Maybe try a bigger band size sports bra as you will probably be quite swollen around the ribs hunny.,
So in short , no not really, you don't want to compromise your recovery sweetie and them beautiful new boobs you've just paid so much for! Xxx

Re: Can I take support bra off??
I just had the same thing had to take it off just to open the front for a minute just to feel like I can bloody breathe!!!! I'm a 34 and the nurse gave me a 32 band Macom.... I undue the bottom rungs now and a again as they dig in a bit... But seriously do we leave it on the whole time?
Also is it best to squish them forward )do they are being rounded up to point in the right direction) or is the bra there just to keep them from drooping to our knees?
Advice welcomed coz I seriously am in the same boat just wanna "breathe" every now an again!!
'sigh'

Re: Can I take support bra off??
If your bra feels so tight it's causing so much discomfort it's too small and you either need a larger band as MrsB says, or if its the cups that are feeling too tight a larger cup size.
The binder acts in the same way a high impact bra would. Both hold the breasts stable. Some surgeons prefer their patients in a binder though - they're not as easy to get off lol.
You're told to wear your bras 24/ 7 for a reason, again MrsB has explained well, it's to keep your boobs stable throughout your recovery giving them the best chance at the best result possible for you.
So if its so bad you're having difficulty wearing the bra, do go get fitted for another girls. That's not to say the Macom won't fit later as the swelling on the ribs subsides, it may well do. But if the swelling is so much it's causing pain in the bra you're in now, it's best to find one that does fit.
I actually had to go up 2 band sizes during my recovery I swelled so much going from a 32 to a 36 band. Xx

It won't last forever and before you know it you'll be counting weeks rather than days and at around a week is a turning point for most.
The swelling may become more apparent during the day when you've been doing stuff and therefore by evening it may feel tight so switch to a bigger band or cup size then always have one on stand by :) x
