Oh no, I've had re work done on my tattoo last night. It's just occured to me now, will this affect my op?? I'm 23 days days away from big day.

I suppose it depends on where it is. Well away from the surgical site and if it heals well then no worries, wouldn't mention it myself just in case they have some silly procedure from health and safety in place which may delay your op but for no good reason!!However, if it is on your front esp near your breast area you should ask. Or if it gets infected then you should let the company know as you don't want to have an active infection when having an op.Fingers crossed you will be ok.

I would call and ask, just for peace of mind!..You should be fine but depending on where it is and if it will affect your boobies!! See what they say and make sure you also tell the nurses on the day of sugery they may need to cover it up if its still healing to help prevent infection!! Hope it goes well for you chick xx

For your own peace of mind I'd be inclined to call your clinic and ask hun as I've read there can be some linking to tattoos and CC, so to ensure you get the best from your surgery and that your aftercare is covered in spite of this I'd just double check babe. xx

I would check with the clinic. I know you cant give blood for 6 months after a tattoo due to risk of infection in the blood

How funny, i have literally just come on here to ask a pretty similar question.

I am thinking of having another tattoo so wanted to ask the same, I have called my PS secretary and she isn't sure so just emailed the cosmetic nurse at Spire so will let you know what she says xx

Hey huns. My partner owns 2 tattoo shops so u can imagine iam covered. I had tattoo work added to my sleeve a week before i went. For my BA. The clinic knew this and never said a thing. I was fine when i came round and had no trouble with the GA. So id just check cos i suppose every clinic is different

Thanx you all for the replies. Went to my pre- op today and asked nurse. Thou tattoo is not near boobs there concern is if it got infected. I didn't think of infection I thought that getting inked has something to do with the blood and that's what I was concerned about. When I go for my second consultation I will ask surgeon and links to cc.

Also I went on bender on Sunday night ( 29 May) I did everything that u not suppose to do. So I had to mention this to nurse too. She said as long as I dont do it again I should be fine. I'm now drinking water by the gallons to try and detoxify myself. Totally not worth the risk. So I have asked to have my blood taken in two weeks time. My op is soooooon. Hope I haven't messed up.

Always better to check sweetheart, worse scenario is you may have to postpone for a little while, that's much better than possible problems post-op should you be unlucky isn't it.

Hope the tests all go well and the surgery goes ahead as planned sweetheart. xx

Had a response from my surgery nurse this morning and she said it has never been asked before but all they would be concerned with is if it has an infection then they wouldn't go ahead.

Fingers crossed you will be absoplutely fine as you still have time to heal xx

I asked about this when i went to see my surgeon as i got a tattoo on my side 3 weeks ago and they said it was fine and wont affect surgery. xxxx
