How long to scars take to heal? Empty How long to scars take to heal?

Post by Bebe71 15th December 2010, 6:23 pm

I am 10 days post op today. I had my dressings changed on Monday and bled a little when the took the steri strips off is this normal? How long should the wound take to close completely? I am back to be checked again on Friday so hopefully will be better by then. Am I right in assuming mine are worse as I had an uplift and obviously have more scarring? Just worried I am being slow to heal. Any reassurance would be great. Thanks.

I don't remember bleeding when I had my dressings off at 10 days but we all heal differently hun. You also had an uplift so that's a bigger wound to heal than just implants. Hope you're okay when you go back on Friday.

I also had a small part of my anchor incision that hadn't healed properly when my dressing were first changed, in fact I went back a couple of times to see the nurse after the dressing were removed at 2 weeks because I was paranoid about it not healing. She gave me some inodine strips and extra dressings. It did heal up eventually and everything was fine. I'm sure yours will be okay hun. xx

I didn't have an uplift, but bled a little when they removed my dressings at 2 weeks post op. They do take a little while to fully close.

Thank you all I thought it was me being slow to heal. I was 8 days post op when they changed the dressings.
