Responsive or Soft Touch
Allergan do their Natrelle range in two different types of gel, Responsive and Soft Touch. Does anybody know the difference between the two types please.

Re: Responsive or Soft Touch
Thanks Ruby - I'm doing that at the moment, but it's still confusing me a bit. At least I have found out that the newer Responsive gels are softer than the Soft Touch ones
.... but thanks for answering hun xx
Implants filled with Responsive gel behave differently (e.g. CUI MLP). Implants filled with Responsive gel feel softer than either implants filled with Cohesive or Soft Touch Cohesive gels. When cut in half, implants filled with Responsive gel do not present a clean cut surface.
.... but thanks for answering hun xx

You are right hun the allergan Natrelles come in 3 types of gel: responsive (least firm), soft touch (firmer) and cohesive (mostly in anatomicals to hold their shape). Although the responsives feel softer you are more likely to get rippling the less cohesive the implant is. As far as I am aware most surgeons use soft touch as they are soft to the touch but still cohesive enough to hold their shape and the gel stays in one place if ruptured. All silicone gel used these days is cohesive in that the gel i not liquid so cannot leak.

Re: Responsive or Soft Touch
Thanks Hattie, I am skowly getting my head round the differences now. I was inclined towards the Responsive ones, but I think I am leaning more towards the Soft Touch ones now because I am hoping for the anatomicals (but I need to discuss this further with my PS at my final consultation) as I am worried that with Responsive anatomicals there would be more chance of 'bottoming out'. What do you think??

Re: Responsive or Soft Touch
As far as I am aware anatomicals only come in the soft touch and cohesive because of their shape. I don't think the type of gel can make you bottom out, bottoming out is most often caused by a combination of large implants and the pocket that the surgeon makes being too large.

Re: Responsive or Soft Touch
Ooops. you are quite right Hattie, I've just reread their brochure and as you correctly pointed out, the anatomicals are only available in either the Soft Touch or the Cohesive gel.
As suppose my problem is my head is spinning at the moment and suffering from information overload and the excitement of it being just 10½ days away is adding to the anxiety. I just want to make sure I am getting the ones which will be best for me.
Thanks for persevering with me

Re: Responsive or Soft Touch
Hi hattie,
No, not an absolute size (in terms of either cc's or cup size) but he knows I want to end up a minimum of DD and maximum of E and he siad he should be able to achieve that. I'm sooooooooooo excited Just hope i end up with a half decent cleavage so I can wear low cut dresses for the first time in my life

Re: Responsive or Soft Touch
Don't worry alt_barbie, I've been living in confusion land every since I had my initial consultation. I think it goes with the territory as they say. This will be my one and only chance because of my age and my finances and I want to get it right (don't we all though).
The surgeon thinks the Inspira ones might suit me better, but I am leaning a bit towards the anatomicals for the 'more natural' look - but on the other hand, I want a reasonably decent cleavage - so the Inspira ones would achieve that more easily, because of the upper fullness.
That is one reason why I asked for a second consultation with him (I'm seeing him the day before my op) so that we could discuss exactly what I want.
My PC has just had her original Inspira ones replaced by anatomicals and she said she would show me the results when I go to see Michael - but I'm not sure even that would help as we are all different and what might look right for her, might not look right for me.
Oh, decisions, decisions :dunno:
