Back from my pre op assessment...
My god I feel like I'm nearing the last corner now. Had my pre op today, had a bit of a fearful drive across to Newcastle with my car threatening to fall to bits but got there in the end and I wasn't late...for a change!! The nurse was lovely, she took my urine sample off me which was a relief, I was so scared it was going to leak in my bag!!! She listened to my heart and lungs, all perfetly fine and blood pressure was good too. Then she worked out my BMI so I stood with my eyes closed while she weighed me (i think i may have looked slightly mental but refuse to see how much I weigh!) anyway BMI is fine, then she took my blood...oh my god...she had 6 different bottles to fill, she attempted the first time and my vein collapsed, tried again and went through the vein, then decided to attempt again on the other arm, the vein collapsed again so she had to find another which thankfully she did...I was ready to give up on the op there and then if she hadnt have got that blood this time!!
Anyway it has now been noted on my records that I am 100% fit and well but have thin and collapsable veins...nice!! So roll on the 12th of Nov...I'm ready!! x

Re: Back from my pre op assessment...
Yippee!! Thank you girls!! It was actually really good to be able to talk to someone about all of this, she just looked at me and said "you need to get excited about it" I told her I couldn't because I felt guilty about it and in the back of my mind keep thinking it's all too good to be true, I don't want people to know because I hate them saying "Oh how lucky are you getting it done on the NHS" when really I'm not lucky at all that my boobs are that freaky that the NHS see them as a cause to fund the operation and I don't want to tell people I have weird boobs!! If that makes any sense! Anyway she cheered me up and said that I deserved the operation and they wouldnt do it if I didnt and that I shouldn't feel guilty about it at all and should start to focus on how it will improve my life, just little things like being able to take my boys swimming...how ace is that going to be?! Reading all the NHS stories and posts made me feel bad as I felt like a free loader as I know that women get a boob job because they are unhappy about their boobs but go ahead and fund it themselves...god this makes no sense, i suppose I'm 'thinking out loud' sorry girls xxx

Ooooh £18 is a good price for a nice bra like that!! I read before about your new measurement congratulations!! Lol I guess once you've had your boobs done and go for measurements its like taking your new baby to be weighed!! haha that's what I'll be like when mine are done anyway!! I still don't even know what size I'm going to be...my Dr is keeping it a secret from me but knows what I want, which is even more exciting lol x
